Quite simply the best Cafe not just in the Adelaide hills, but in the greater Adelaide region and (based on my travels interstate) the country. If that doesn't sell you, read on. If it has, enjoy the beautiful trip through the stunning region of the Adelaide hills and say Hello to the staff for me when you arrive.

The quality of every item is extremely high, with each one being refined through years of training and experience to best fill its role on the menu. Every sweet, cake, truffle, cup and mug is crafted by loving staff who care so, so much about this place and it's success and it absolutely shows. The staff will advise you on which blend of coffee pairs with which truffle and even pair them to your individual tastes or seasonal availability.

The atmosphere is excellent, perfect for an anniversary, study session, casual catch-up or pitstop coffee mid-errands and is suited to casual or semi-formal occasions. The calibre of the staff is truly next level for a cafe due to their very high standards of hiring and training. They're all good at their jobs and working to get better at it. They care about the restaurant and about you.

They're open till 6pm meaning it's the perfect pitstop after work or at those odd hours that the competition has already called off. Their range of retail products is vast and makes a perfect up-market addition to any gift, be it a seasonal one or an anniversary or special occasion. They have you covered on all bases, at all times. You can truly ask nothing more of a cafe.

Wheelchair accessible, outdoor dining with heating and blankets available, on site bathroom (kept very clean throughout my near decade of patronage) and highly accessible due to the large parking lot just behind it.

If this review hasn't convinced you, let the owner Marcus do it himself. You will not be...

Red Cacao is an absolute haven for chocolate enthusiasts like myself! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the heavenly aroma of freshly crafted chocolates and the warm, inviting ambiance of the café.

The wide selection of chocolates at Red Cacao is simply outstanding. Their artisanal creations are a true testament to the mastery of chocolate-making. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, textures, and pure indulgence. From classic milk chocolate to exotic dark chocolate infused with unique ingredients, Red Cacao offers a delightful range that caters to every palate.

One standout item is their signature hot chocolate. It's like sipping liquid velvet, rich and velvety smooth. The blend they use is of the highest quality, resulting in a beverage that is both comforting and decadent. Whether you prefer a traditional hot chocolate or enjoy experimenting with exciting flavor combinations, Red Cacao has got you covered.

The attention to detail and passion for their craft is evident in every aspect of Red Cacao. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready to guide you through their menu, helping you discover new and delightful chocolate experiences. The café itself is cozy and inviting, providing the perfect setting to savor your chocolate treats.

In addition to their delectable chocolates, Red Cacao also offers a range of pastries and desserts that beautifully complement their cocoa creations. From delicate macarons to luscious chocolate cakes, each treat is a work of art that will leave you craving for more.

If you're a chocolate lover, a visit to Red Cacao is an absolute must. Prepare to be transported to a chocolate paradise where every bite is a moment of sheer bliss. Trust me, you won't be...

Always enjoy coming to the Red Cacao, and autumn / Easter time is my favourite time to visit . Lots of lovely chocolate options, and you can smell the wonderful aroma wafting down the laneway. Service today was so incredibly friendly and no question was too trivial to answer. Table water was bought , and the server answered everything with a smile . Some samples of cake were bought as well , but when I mentioned I was gluten intolerant, she bought me some chocolate covered popcorn to try instead . I had an almond latte , which is my usual choice , and my friend had his soy mocha , which he raved about . The coffee was both our favourite type , dark roasted and smooth , which apparently was called Ethiopian Sidamo , and toasted locally at the warehouse at Mt Barker . I had a date and carrot loaf , with coconut yoghurt and poached pears . The loaf was full of flavour , lovely and nutty , with lots of spice . It paired well with the poached pears , and was finished well with the creaminess of the yogurt , and the citrus sauce . I wouldn’t have minded just a bowl of those poached pears - they were beautifully done , obviously seasonal . ( Maybe with some chocolate fondue ?) As well as the menu , there are cakes and macaroons in the cabinet and a nice array of gluten free options, which is appreciated. The shop is a cave of beautifully crafted chocolate- they take pride in what they do and it shows . Autumn really is chocolate weather , there’s something about the coolness in the air that makes you crave the sugary goodness of the world’s favourite bean . Definitely a plus for the Australian chocolate scene- puts Adelaide...

Nice little place tucked away in Stirling. Has a nice atmosphere and was a cosy winter afternoon stop. The staff are really nice and the shop is packed with delicious looking things. Ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate, which was served with a side of salted caramel and was super sweet. Also ordered a iced salted caramel hot chocolate which was also super sweet and decadent, I think the better option of the two choices. Also ordered a slice of the Mahalia gateaux cake (matcha and pistachio sponge, pistachio cream, lemon curd and white chocolate mousse) but was very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed by it. It had no flavour and was mostly flavourless white chocolate mousse, which was very gelatinous and without any flavour, and very little sponge. Beautiful presentation, served on a piece of gold cardboard, but was a tiny slice for $12.50 with no flavour. So would not recommend that. Given that and that it's quite a pricey café, it loses points for me.

Among the best in Australia in terms of presentation, quality and customer service... Coffee was great and the matching pieces of chocolate were nice. The menu was very detailed and extensive and I would be surprised if you couldn't find a favourite in there. Although it's a fairly small area, the presentation of every item and the attention to details is incredible. Take a look at around 100 photos I've uploaded and you quickly realise it's a very strong offering even if you've been to many other chocolate outlets. The staff are extremely friendly and they are definitely a very big strength to the establishment. The only downside might be prices as I purchased 2 small blocks of 100% dark chocolate for around $10 each and with 3 coffee the bill quickly rose to above $40. Overall I would definitely recommend checking it out even if what you choose to purchase might be slightly limited to some extent by the prices.
