While my experience at Tandoori Spice in Aldgate was overall positive, I must confess that the aftermath of indulging in their Vindaloo left much to be desired. However, let's start with the positives.
From the moment I stepped into Tandoori Spice, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The décor was tasteful and authentic, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that my meal was nothing short of exceptional.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Tandoori Spice boasts an impressive selection of Indian cuisine, with dishes ranging from mild to spicy to suit every palate. Each dish is expertly crafted with the perfect balance of flavors and spices, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs.
In particular, the Vindaloo deserves special mention for its bold and fiery flavors. While I must admit that I may have underestimated the heat level, the depth of flavor and complexity of spices made it a truly memorable dish. However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the consequences of indulging in such a fiery feast.
Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for the Vindaloo was met with a less-than-pleasant surprise in the form of an unexpected rendezvous with the toilet. It seems that my taste buds were not the only ones set ablaze by the intense heat of the dish, as my digestive system also experienced its own fiery inferno. While it may have been a somewhat uncomfortable experience, I can't fault Tandoori Spice for delivering on their promise of authentic and spicy cuisine.
In conclusion, despite the unexpected aftermath of indulging in the Vindaloo, my experience at Tandoori Spice was overwhelmingly positive. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious cuisine, it's a dining destination that I would gladly return to again and again—perhaps with a bit more...
Read moreDefinitely rate the Indian food, with lots of vegan substitutions, which is great. About the wait staff. One waitress there, under 30, is really excellent and clearly has prior experience. The boomer who served us on this occasion had no class or no clue. Kept talking too loudly at us. She would narrate our experience, Oh, you've eaten all of that so you must be full now, when we actually hadn't finished our meal and were half way through. Was she judging us? We're pretty fit, trim guys.
She was also bad at taking our order. We ordered everything from the vegan menu, but just before our meals arrived, the younger waitress came to check if one of our meals should also be vegan too. She was across it and wasn't even the one serving us. The old boomer then walked into the kitchen and, within earshot, passive agressively blamed us for the error to the chef. He blasted her. Then she came back to us and said to us that the chef told her off because we changed our minds.
She was just so extra. When I was paying, she made a point to bring up the vegan thing again, asking us how long we had been vegan and relating that two of her housemates were vegetarian and they eat a lot of cheese. The phone rang; and she turned around to answer it without excusing herself, just stopping...
Read moreMy partner and I have been eating here regularly for many years, nearly once a fortnight at one point. Our typical meal cost have always come to around $95. About 6-9 months ago, the price jumped to around $125 for the same meal. Ok, cost of living has gone up maybe around 25% so maybe that's justified. However just recently, the price for the exact same meal order jumped again to around $150!!! It's Indian food for crying out loud. Probably the cheapest and easiest of all foods to make! I'm sorry but you guys are taking the piss with your pricing and have made it unaffordable for regulars like us now. The value for money is no longer there. The food is ok but not amazing, and many of the meals taste the same. And the nail in the coffin is that while we were eating there recently during a date night, half way through our meal, someone out back in the kitchen started using some power tool or something that was very loud and obnoxious. The noise carried on for about 10 minutes. Sounded a bit like a hammer drill removing tiles or something? The door to the kitchen was wide open and we couldn't hear each other talk over the noise. Total put-off! So, we'll be taking our money elsewhere...
