Meekak BAR & BBQ — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

I don't know how to give 0.5 star on google review.... hence just a star. As a Korean myself and for my Korean friend, this place is far beyond disappointment. It could be a nice place for BBQ... maybe??? But not for other Korean dishes. Not authentic at all but very unauthentic. My friend and I ordered pork bone soups and streamed egg.

Let me tell ya, I can buy a cheap instance soup packet in any Korean supermarkets in town and I SWEAR supermarket instance soup got more meat, more flavour and greens than the one in here. On top of that, the pork bones got no meat at all, not to mention that it's undercooked. Has this chef ever tasted or tried real pork bone soup at all before serving??? Does the chef even know how to cook? I have a strong feeling that the staff just poured factory made soup and put some bones and served. Knowing how to cook Korean food, the one that I had here was very much insulting. Also serving staff does not have any idea or no understanding of Korean food, which leads to poor serving. Steamed egg was also too bland that I cannot tell if a hint of salt was added when cooked. All side dishes we had were too sugary.

We went to have dinner, we were welcomed well at first. The food was served the food5/5 but the main reason why we were upset about this place are The front staff was rude- my sister went to order the bbq chicken to the front desk however the lady was rude and asked us to order via QR code in a in appropriate manner While the staff was serving steamed rice she was placing the rice in an in appropriate way where we felt so bad and my mom was upset. Every time when we were having our meal we can witness staff working in the front and kitchen eating the food and was chewing every time while they were serving our meal- this can’t reassure us if they were eating out or not. This is breaching food safety. Also, at the end - front staff asked if we would like some extra Kimchy we said yea- we waited for 5-6 min but the front girl was eating something with other staff Infront of us and we were completely ignored. Yesterday we came to Meekak. Well this is my 1st time having korean bbq in sunny coast and it was really good experience . Where lemme start with the place, its a nice design n cozzy, toilet is clean as well. So pretty much its a good place to have meal with friends or family. Dont ask about how friendly the girls who r working over there, theyre so nice trust me. Keep asking you about your food, vibes etc. and giving u info about the deal in the resto. And about the food ? What can u expect from korean bbq ? Its all there. We ordered the corean bbq package for 2 and we thought its small but huge portion for 2. Imagine if we ordered the other packages? Taste is good , price is average, staffs r friendly, Place is cozzy. In the end i came n asked them for pic so i can review their place.
