I went to Nando’s to have a nice meal with my family and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant, the service was terrible. As we walked in we were told to just find somewhere to sit and almost all of the table had dirty plates all over them and you could tell that the tables hadn’t been cleaned in a while. After sitting down for about 5 minutes, we realised that no one was coming to serve us, with menus, water etc. We had get up out of our seats to get menus from the front counter. Then we were told to order on the Nando’s app and we couldn’t order up front. My Mum wanted to order one of the Salads, but apparently they couldn’t make it for her because they were missing 1 of the ingredients! After ordering and paying through the app, my Sister and Dad decided to look around for some Knives and Forks, Napkins, and some Water after not much success they decided to ask for some water. The waiter said that he would quote ‘get around to it’ he never did! When the food finally came I was surprised by the size of the meals as they were quite expensive and not that big. The chicken was cold, the avocado salad seemed to be missing the avocado, the chick peas were just not very nice, the rice crackers were very stale, the lettuce was brown and was obviously very old. It was also very plain and we ordered 2 Coke Zero’s, but were only given a Coke Zero and a normal Coke. The only worker there seemed to be in a very foul mood and to top it all of there was not Knives and Forks anywhere, we weren’t given any with our meals, and when we asked for some the waiter said that he would give them to us soon because they needed to be washed! And then when they were finally put out (not even on the table, just by the sauce) they were wet, they hadn’t even been bothered to dry the utensils. Honestly the McDonald’s we went to after would have been a much nicer experience than whatever this was. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT...
Read moreLiterally the poorest service I’ve encountered in a while. I’m aware that Nando’s isn’t nor strives to be silver service but Christ, this was borderline no service. On arrival we were waiting for at least 15 minutes before deciding to gather menus and seat ourselves regardless of the wait to be seated sign. We also just used the app to order the food as chances of flagging one of these guys down was clearly slim.
The thing is, we were the only customers in the entire store (on a Friday around 4:30pm). Literally the only customers, though the staff were all too busy preparing the few delivery orders that they must’ve had as we went without even acknowledgement stood in the doorway. Not even a ‘be there in a minute’ offered. The other funny thing was, there were at least 4 staff on (excluding those cooking) who were apparently all needed to staple the takeout bags together. When the staff to customer ratio is 4:2, you’d at least expect a hello on arrival if not the best service ever.
Worst part of it all was as we finished our chicken, our first encounter with a staff member for the entire duration of our dining was her asking us to complete a survey regarding the service. I thought that was brave of her, so...
Read moreThe worst nandos in Australia. You’ll line up to be served, they’ll see that you’re standing there but wouldn’t acknowledge you. Piss poor service. I stood there with my wife for about 10 minutes and decided I will not be supporting a business that can’t even say “hey, we’ll be with you in a sec”. No eye contact, nothing. Mind you there was no queue.
Prior to this, I went there about 2 months ago where they were urging me to use the app to order food rather than order at the counter. I told her I’ll be a lot more comfortable to just order at the counter and she gave me the death stare and told me I’ll have to wait 20 minutes before I can order… What’s happened to customer service? Some people have enough in there day, they just want to go out and eat and not have to use their phones or worry about technology.
Want this problem to go away or be fixed? Simple. Nandos need to open up another nandos in Sunshine Coast, you’ll see how quick this establishment goes down. I hate for any business to suffer but clearly, the people running this place couldn’t care less. They’re only existent cause they are the only nandos in Sunshine Coast…
