I was really looking forward to having dinner in this restaurant but unfortunately there was only disappointment. The naan was oily leaving oil marks on the paper doilies and on our hands. Should have been light and fluffy but...... The raita was something else again. Just runny, watery dreadful. No full fluff or creamy feel to any of it.. And to top it off between the entree and the main we were left to hold our knife and fork in our hands sticking up in the air!! No plate, nowhere to put the cutlery whilst waiting for the main. Unbelievable. And we had brought our own bottle of bubbles. We had to ask for a wine bucket which was handed to us and then told it would/could go on the floor. No stand. Really no place on the table with everything else for it anyway. Table for 2. Maybe you should do a table for 4 for 2 people and then it would be OK. Then to top it off when we went to pay the young woman just took the card and pay waved it without even asking. A big definite no no when dealing with people's credit and money. Ask the customer how they want to pay!!! Sorry, very disappointed. Wouldn't...
Read moreI must say, I'm a discerning diner with a passion for authentic flavors, and Swagat has truly set the bar high for Indian cuisine. In a competitive landscape, your restaurant stands out for its unwavering commitment to traditional techniques and exceptional ingredients. The Vindaloo, in particular, was a revelation - it's been years since I've savored a dish that so perfectly balances spice and flavor. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen's skill and dedication to authenticity.
What truly sets Swagat apart, however, is the love and care that goes into every aspect of the dining experience. From the warm hospitality to the meticulous attention to detail, it's clear that your team is driven by a passion for sharing the rich culinary heritage of India with your guests. My family and I are absolutely enamored with your food, and we can't express our gratitude enough for the outstanding service and warm welcome we received. Read moreThis was the worst Indian I’ve ever encountered. The reviews before consuming were extremely positive but they were completely off the mark.
The butter chicken was tasteless and felt like it tasted more like yoghurt than anything else.
I ordered the lamb vindaloo, extra hot. Came with 2 small chilli pieces and the butter chicken had more heat to it.
The size of the servings was ridiculous. Smallest serves I’ve ever encountered and at $23 each mind you.
Please, my wife never listens to me. However, I implore you not to attend this restaurant. It’s beyond terrible. I understand small businesses need to survive, but this is seriously bad.
To top matters off, we rang a second time after booking to ask if it was BYO or if you can purchase drinks there. We were told we could only buy beer or wine in store, only to witness others bring in bottle after bottle, including one customer who brought in 6 bottles of white wine/cask wine.
Each to their own but please don’t waste your money here, it shouldn’t even be allowed from a hospitality point of view.
Thanks for...
