The anticipation was high, we haven’t had Chinese food in quite some time. We were reminiscing about the unique flavours that reflected the Chinese cuisine. Sadly, we were disappointed… We ordered 2 entrees. The mini spring rolls, closer to micro spring rolls were a mere mouthful each. The steamed dim sims were ‘perfectly identical’ to each other. Both entrees no doubt out of a plastic bag in the freezer, so no reflection on the establishment’s ability to make food only showing they can heat it up. Next there are 3 mains. The lemon chicken, definitely took a healthy direction with the thin crisp batter, but the chicken was overcooked and tough. Then the lemon sauce was extremely artificial in look and flavour. Next It seems that Chinese Vegetables in the Chicken stir fry means bok choy & carrot, nothing else. The pieces of chicken were very large and required a knife to cut it up, so no chop sticks used to eat this one. Additionally the flavours were very subtle and not bold as they used to be. The only saving grace was the Beef with hot Mongolian Sauce. This contained a variety of vegetables as well, the down side was the beef, although plentiful, it a bit tough. The menu looked amazing with so many choices that I was so eager to try. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to discard the take-away menu and I won’t be returning. Please take my review anyway you choose, remembering this is merely my opinion from my experience. We consider take-away a treat and a bit of an indulgence, especially when you spend a weeks worth of grocery money on a single meal. For me bring back the bite-sized pieces of chicken in batter that soaked up the sweet sour sticky, made from scratch, lemon sauce. The diet will be there ready...
Read moreOh my...where to start? Well... ‘Mini’ spring rolls looked like a deep fried version of Coles $2 spring rolls (just our opinion) - tasted 2 binned the rest Pork and sweet and sour sauce.....ummmmm, where’s the pork? Should read deep fried batter, no veg (carrot, onion and pineapple at least?) no pork (not joking, NO PORK) and a radioactive red sauce - we binned it Beef and black bean - yep some beef and minimal veg, but a seriously stodgy, salty, unappealing sauce - we binned it Fried rice - minimal ingredients, very little flavour but heck, we had to eat something! Chicken with cashews - stringy chicken, minimal veg but a good amount of cashews...zero flavour though! We read reviews as it was our first time ordering and most of the bad reviews were from some time ago...tried calling to discuss (in no way looking for a ‘free meal!’) but unfortunately not answering their phone....so disappointing because when you move to a new area you want to support local....we are very sorry but Peak Tower Chinese will never be on our return list or a recommendation!! Oh and don’t even get us started on...
Read morePeak Tower Chinese Restaurant is a well priced Chinese Restaurant servicing Buderim & Surrounds. For Buderim, the prices are very reasonable (I'd say low to medium costing) and the portion size, range of meals and flavours are great!
Don't bother trying to use their website though, as it's unusable on mobile devices. If you're looking for a menu on there, it's extremely hard to use.
I'll certainly be back as the food is good, but I have taken a menu to avoid frustration in the future when trying to plan orders via their website. Only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars - The amount of business they must miss from the horrible website would...
