It was by far the worst Asian dining experience in a decade. Horrible quality of food, awful taste, ridiculously expensive price. We only visited this restaurant based on generous 4.5/5 Google reviews. We were visiting Sunshine coast that night and very looking forward to tasting gourmet Asian food to celebrate Mother's day one day early(7/5/22 Saturday). There was even a signboard luring customers saying " Every mother gets a FREE glass of wine". We were even excited about the free wine in the restaurant. We were greeted by a young staff Michelle L who was very friendly and professional. We sat at the table, I was a little shocked by the price of the menu at a glance. But at the same time, I truly believed(imagined) that the quality of the dish will justify the price. We ordered 6 dishes to feed 2 adults and 2 young children. Which we believed more than enough to celebrate the night. When the food started being served one by one, however, we were shocked. Entree dumplings(3pcs) + extra piece come in a small dish and are dipped in soy sauce already. The taste was alright but the dumplings swimming in soy sauce was too salty to enjoy. The dumpling itself was already salty but the soy sauce pre-dipped dumplings made it doubly salty and it was unheard of. What is more, the price of 4 dumplings was $19... Pad Ped Talay(Seafood and meat combo curry?) was $35 but it was an awfully small portion and tasteless. Funny thing is, the chicken was smelly, the mussels were tasteless, and the squid was undercooked(which gave me diarrhoea all night). Sweet & sour pork was very mediocre and it's exactly what you would taste in a cheap Chinese food court. Needless to mention, the rest of the things were all equally small portions, tasteless, smelly and overpriced. Plus, the FREE wine that was mentioned on the signboard was not offered that night because it was one day before Mother's Day. I understand that but why would you put a sign there then? To confuse customers and lure them into the restaurant?
As I mentioned at the beginning, it was the worst experience and made me suffer enough to empty my stomach all night( I am glad it was only me having diarrhoea. It could've been a disaster for the whole family during the trip.)
I won't visit the place again. If anyone sees this review pease check the lowest review first. You will be...
Read moreOur unplanned visit turned out to be an excellent choice. We were welcomed in and offered a table with a refreshing breeze. We ordered curry puffs and steamed dumplings as starters, and for mains, stir fried duck and chilli basil chicken stir fried rice. The dumplings were superb, subtly flavoured and served with a light soy with a hint of something else blended in - I kept the leftover for the mains as it was so tasty. The mains both delicious with quite different flavours. Portions were large and took some effort to finish. Both around the $30 mark and well worth it. Service was prompt and efficient, the wait staff pleasant and engaging. Our half bottle of tap water was swapped out for a fresh cold one mid way through our meal - great as it was a warm summer evening. No room for desert! Overall a great range of flavours and textures - will definitely become one of our regular...
Read moreI have heard that Sangs have recently changed hands, so I decided to give the restaurant another try. My table had Singapore Chilli Prawn dish, Moreton Bay Bugs & crispy fried Snapper for dinner. The Prawns are local Mooloolaba prawns they are too die for! Highly recommended dish! Moreton Bay Bugs were so fresh - finger licking dish. Lastly the Snapper dish it was very crispy the meat was so soft it melted in my mouth, the tamarind sauce was just the right balance of sweet and sour. The service was exceptional very welcoming, friendly and alway on hand to help. A BIG 10 out of 10 for...
