Post 17 Dec vaccine mandate in QLD - This venue refused to serve me a take away coffee even while standing outside on the public walkway while placing my order. I was asked to show my vax passport to which I replied, "It's ok, I'll just wait outside for my order", but for the women serving me, that seemed far too scientific for her to comprehend the logic and sensibility of my request. Her reply was, "Sorry, we must see your vax passport to serve you".
Five minutes later, I went with my 10 yo son to the same place to make the order thinking that kids don't need the vax passport so should be fine. Again standing outside, the same women greeted my son and glanced up at me with a blank look on her face. It was about 4:30pm and no other cafe's were open for takeaway coffee's in the vicinity, and I really felt like a coffee. The same women again denied my son's request saying he was under age... It's a blimming coffee for pietes sake!! (I said).
At this point I was completely lost for words I just walked away. I spent the rest of the weekend with my family cruising around Mooloolaba and Maroochy having a great time, and no other venue had bothered asking for a vax passport. Most venues around the area are super chill, beach vibe, laid back and couldn't give a f* about this BS freedom passport.
The women behind the counter that served me that day should be fired if the owners of this business had any sense, but judging by the overall rating on Google Reviews, I'm not really...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars for service and atmosphere I would !!! As soon as we walked into the “family side” the tone of voice wasn’t impressed as we hadn’t booked a table - moved to the “sports bar” so we could watch the game Staff prioritised their own conversations over service - anything we asked for seemed to be an issue Ordered drinks through the app like we were told then after waiting 15min went to the bar to ask - ticket was still sitting in the printer even though they weren’t busy. Seemed it was inconvenient Interactions were rude. Def won’t be back ! Spoke to management about the terrible service as 3 staff raised their voice when my 4y stepped to close to the TAB area - making a lot of people turn to see what was going on - even though I had stopped her going any further already. Was told 4y shouldn’t even be in that side - someone could have told us that before we ordered a meal and drink each
Kids meal meant to come with drink and dessert - didn’t get either - wouldn’t bother asking as I’m sure that would have been an issue too
Considering how quite both side of the pub was - maybe make people feel a touch more comfortable so that people come back to...
Read moreFriendly staff, great location but surprised by the food. And not in a good way. After the meals were delivered to the table it became apparent that the menu is designed for convience not quality.
1/. Buffalo wings were just wings cooked in an oven then covered in a brown sugary sauce like Sweet Baby Rays from Aldi. 2/. Ham pineapple pizza could have also been purchased from Aldi frozen section also 3/. Chicken Parma - same as above 4/. Ceaser salad with chicken not bad
So that's a 1 out of 4 for food based on selection above.
I get that all restaurants need to be able to produce food fast & with a fair cost base but most of these meals tasted like they come out of a frozen food selection in a supermarket.
Management need to take responsibility & redesign the menu, give it a fair crack with fresh produce & you will be on to a winner.
Here's a hot tip, pretend Gordon Ramsey is coming next week. Currently he would be dropping the f & c bomb left right & centre if he was served such an uninspiring offer as last...
