Post 17 Dec vaccine mandate in QLD - This venue refused to serve me a take away coffee even while standing outside on the public walkway while placing my order. I was asked to show my vax passport to which I replied, "It's ok, I'll just wait outside for my order", but for the women serving me, that seemed far too scientific for her to comprehend the logic and sensibility of my request. Her reply was, "Sorry, we must see your vax passport to serve you".
Five minutes later, I went with my 10 yo son to the same place to make the order thinking that kids don't need the vax passport so should be fine. Again standing outside, the same women greeted my son and glanced up at me with a blank look on her face. It was about 4:30pm and no other cafe's were open for takeaway coffee's in the vicinity, and I really felt like a coffee. The same women again denied my son's request saying he was under age... It's a blimming coffee for pietes sake!! (I said).
At this point I was completely lost for words I just walked away. I spent the rest of the weekend with my family cruising around Mooloolaba and Maroochy having a great time, and no other venue had bothered asking for a vax passport. Most venues around the area are super chill, beach vibe, laid back and couldn't give a f* about this BS freedom passport.
The women behind the counter that served me that day should be fired if the owners of this business had any sense, but judging by the overall rating on Google Reviews, I'm not really...

As soon as we walked into the âfamily sideâ the tone of voice wasnât impressed as we hadnât booked a table - moved to the âsports barâ so we could watch the game Staff prioritised their own conversations over service - anything we asked for seemed to be an issue Ordered drinks through the app like we were told then after waiting 15min went to the bar to ask - ticket was still sitting in the printer even though they werenât busy. Seemed it was inconvenient Interactions were rude. Def wonât be back ! Spoke to management about the terrible service as 3 staff raised their voice when my 4y stepped to close to the TAB area - making a lot of people turn to see what was going on - even though I had stopped her going any further already. Was told 4y shouldnât even be in that side - someone could have told us that before we ordered a meal and drink each
Kids meal meant to come with drink and dessert - didnât get either - wouldnât bother asking as Iâm sure that would have been an issue too
Considering how quite both side of the pub was - maybe make people feel a touch more comfortable so that people come back to...

Yes the kids meals were Ok,even if they didn't have the calamari both kids had originally chosen..understood.Even the garlic bread was decent..hard to screw a garlic bread up though. My partner & I decided to order a few entrees for mains..bruschetta..Gyozas & wings & all were absolute rubbish. Best part of the bruschetta was the bread..tge ratio of onion to tomato was outrageous..there was no parmesan cheese & the ramekin with the olive oil & balsamic lacked any possibility of attracting the balsamic below the oil..not even a drizzle was capable..i like red onion in my bruchetta..but in proportion please. And the Gyozas..my god..we could have brought a better bulk frozen pack at Campbell's cash & carry..we passed on those after one bite. The chicken wings were tiny, dry & with minimal bbq sauce dribbled over the top...no ramekin of sauce on the side...nothing. When the best part of your meal was the garlic bread...maybe there are questions that need to...
