Would give zero stars, if I could. I've been coming to Adria for over 15 years, but now, I'll never return. Watched a show at the ICC 13th Feb, was hungry after so I thought I'd go grab a bite to eat close by. Was 9.30pm, not late at all, but hardly anything in darling harbour was open. I went round the other side of the harbour and into Adria - I was told they only had the late night menu available AT 9.30PM - having lived in Europe recently where some ppl only start their night at 9 or 10pm, this nanny state is completely ludicrous to me, but anyway - I was still prepared to spend what would have amounted to around $100-150 worth of food and drinks, for the time I was going to be there. Was greeted by a lovely French girl at the register trying to take my order of food and a jug of margarita - was clear she was new, and in training, struggling to take my order correctly. She asked for help and got point blank ignored by her trainer, so he could keep shaking his little cocktails and feeling important in himself. This bartender standing next to her if you can even call him that, his name was Garo / Goro not sure the spelling - he was too busy shaking three cocktails and completely ignoring her / trying to look busy and important, he had zero interest training or helping her which is so misogynistic and gross. As a fellow cocktail bartender myself, it was an actual embarrassment to watch. It was uncomfortable to see her look at him for help several times, ask him in actual words for help several times, and have him either totally ignore her, and by proxy me, with attitude on top for almost ten mins. When there's so many good bartenders out there looking for work, you shouldn't have a job there m888. There was zero reason for it, it was disgusting behaviour to have that attitude on display at the bar to customers. By that point, after standing there trying to order for ten mins copping shade, I got angry and asked him to please help her. To which he told ME to 'settle down' & not to be rude (what a JOKE, after standing there being ignored for literally forever) - I told him to check his own piss poor attitude at the door and when he didn't, at that point I just refused to spend any money at all by then and told him that venue has now lost a loyal customer of 15+ years. He continued arguing with me raising his voice and being an absolute disgrace to his employer- by that point, I called the manager over and explained what happened. I was not offered a complimentary meal for the trouble and harrassment i experienced, but only a small discount...also a joke. I'll never spend my money here again. Believe me when I say, if someone goes somewhere to a venue and has a good experience they tell 5-10 ppl -when it's bad, it's more like 20-25. It was such an awful experience, I've taken time out of my day two weeks later to remember to do this and I recall the exact staff members name too. If you want to keep your customers, that person shouldn't be on your bar especially not in a training role when he's unfit to deal with clientele or fellow staff. Do better, Adria. Pity I won't be back to see if you improve but hopefully it helps someone else who might be game to go. Good luck, employing a FOH staff...

Warning. Before ordering, ask about the serving size of your meal. Today 4/8/24 we sat down for some drinks and lunch. 5 grown men catching up, hoping to have a nice lunch. 4 different meals out of 5 as 2 ordered the schnitzel. The schnitzel was 1 piece which was the thinist piece I've seen in my life. I'd say It would of weighed honestly about 120grams if lucky. It was served with a spoon of mash, the other person got chips instead and then had to pay $14 extra for garden salad which came in a bowl which was slightly bigger then a mug. The skewers ( lamb and chicken) were kids size skewers with 3 small pieces of meat on each skewer and the plate didn't even come with chips. It had 4 triangle piece of bread with a few pieces of tomato ,cucumber and capsicum. I honestly thought these meals were entrees. The steak sandwich size was decent but was bland. The roast lamb was returned as unedeble. We complained about our foods. No taste, small portions. Which is fine if price was according, but $32 for a schnitzel that doesn't even come with salad is a joke and $36 for kids size skewers with not even a chip on the plate. We were told the prices factor in the location and the view. Well let's be honest. Most of the time I was looking at my friend opposite me and he's nothing special. View of boats, well we had all just spent the day At the boats how so we already paid for that view. The waitresses were nice. ★ In summary, I'm happy to pay for good food. But when your sitting at a restaurant and googling other places to eat straight after because you're still hungry and disappointed, then I'd rather stay at home. Anything above 3 star reviews at this place would be either fake reviews or because of location. I've never left a bad review in my life. I understand times are tough for people and businesses, but having people return because of good food is better then disappointed people who will...

First time leaving a one star google review. Worst service ever from manager and server. Food was excellent, meaning the 3.6 stars google review overall should be higher. Please read on if interested.

Seated by the manager in a pink blazer shortly after noon today. Waited 10-15 minutes to be waited on. Was only waited on because I asked a lovely host in tan for help. In the meantime, the table next to us proceeded to get their own water from the serving station so they at least had water. Valentina, who had been busy talking with other staff and setting tables up, proceeded to wait on them, then wait on us. They received their food and drinks before we received our drinks that were sitting on the bar ready for us for at least five minutes. Valentina was again busy setting the tables instead of taking care of guests. Once we asked her for our drinks, she sat up some other tables first, before someone else finally brought us our drinks. Some other people, who were seated long after us, then received their food before us. The manager in the pink blazer and another person in a striped tank came by to stare at all of us instead of asking if everything was okay. This was an extremely unprofessional way to handle the situation as a manager, although, now the 3.6 stars overall makes sense. The food was excellent. We were never offered another drink or more water (once we got it). The table next to us got up to get another bottle of water, again, since they ran out. We asked for the check. She didn't bring it as she seemed busy setting up tables again. Asked again and finally received it.

We have been in Sydney and NZ for the last few weeks and have had excellent food and service everywhere. It was a shame this happened on one of our...

INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING! We got there around 9am on Saturday morning. Sign says "please wait to be seated" so we waited and waited.....for 8 minutes to be precise! Eventually we just had to go inside to where you're supposed to pay to tell them we had been waiting and the lady ignored it. She offered a seat and left. Breakfast: We ordered coffee and a babyccino first. When we gave our toddler's own babyccino cup the server said "oh I don't know I have to check". I replied with "not sure what's so hard about it" before he literally flailed his arms about, mumbled and left!!! Breakfast order: Eggs Benedict with Spinach: bland, bland, bland. Don't even have salt & pepper on the table Mediterranean Breakfast: One poached egg was well done and the other was runny. For $25 I sure expect a lot more! Coffee was a joke! Just froth on one and the server who brought the babyccino spilt it and then left it on the table and walked off! We had to call her back to clean it. She had to check if they had Marshmallows even though there's a huge tub where she just got the coffee from. Babyccino was just milk basically. Whoever is responsible needs to be fired. We went to pay and as we approached the counter to pay we were cut off by a waiter with drinks on a plate. I somehow managed to avoid him bumping into my toddler, whom I was holding as I went to pay. There was no acknowledgement from the waiter or the lady at the counter! Rubbish service! Current Google rating of 3.8 is about 3 too high! Backpackers who don't know the meaning of service, a disgrace for a barista and a chef that we probably caught on a bad day! Only good thing is location on Cockle Bay Wharf

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. However, here's my story of the rating. I searched up top rated gluten-free friendly steakhouse in Sydney and this place poped up, fully expecting to get what is labeled to be gluten-free from their menu, however couldn't get chips nor mash due to the oil they are CURRENTLY using might not be gluten-free. (I assume changing frying oil just for me is too much effort) It is very considerate that they even came back to suggest I switch to a salad just to be safe,. However, yhe chips and mash are labled as GF(gluten-free) on their menu. So that was a bit disappointing 😞 I went along with a salad and the food was overall great. Service was friendly, but I had to say my mom had to wait patiently staring at her food, waited 40 minutes for my steak and also asked them to heat her food up so we could enjoy at the same time. I don't think a steak should take 40 minutes and even it does then they should have matched the timing to serve us both at the same time? My steak was requested at medium-well. It's partially cooked to perfection but it isn't cooked evenly, the whole strip of the cap part of the ribeye was undercooked might be due to an uneven cooking surface or temperature control in the oven.

We dined at Adria Bar and Restaurant, located in Sydney’s Cockle Bay Wharf in Darling harbour for a Mediterranean inspired menu and great views! The Adria menu features plenty of seafood, pastas, meat or salads and plenty of refreshing drinks; beer, wine and cocktails. We loved their range of cocktails and watched the sunset with an Aperol Spritz and Mojito. We enjoyed seared scallops with a cauliflower puree, watercress, crispy prosciutto and balsamic glaze. Perfectly cooked and nicely flavoured. In addition, we also liked their lamb Souvlaki, marinated in rosemary, garlic, olive oil served with tzatziki and we ordered a fattoush salad to accompany this. As a main, the barramundi was amazing, served with broccolini and chumichurri. The meals were all fresh and healthy and presented beautifully on the plate. The restaurant has a laid back, casual vibe and although it took a while to get seated and served (they weren’t busy), once the order was taken, the food came out very fast. Such as lovely way to spend the afternoon. We can recommend Cockle Bay Wharf as the perfect dining destination and you can always enjoy some entertainment in the area afterwards.
