QBT travel had this listed as a 4 star hotel for some reason. Google maps has 3 stars and I guess it counts as that. Comfortable bed, big TV, nice big shower head and enough pressure and hot water to actually enjoy it. Some mould in the bathroom, the room itself was a tiny box too small to even sit at the token desk and look out the window. Which is probably a blessing as the room looked straight into a dirty concrete wall of a dirty alley. Aircon noisier than a waterfall, and for some insane reason the entire floor either gets to be allowed to use heat, or cool. But not both. As I found out when I got back to my room after walking all around the city, and I was hot, and the room was hot because the aircon won't stay on when you leave the room and the bar fridge pumps out a crazy amount of heat (the slot for power reads your card, so you can't just jam a random card in here to keep the aircon on). So I tried to set it to cool but the controller wouldn't let me. Front desk explained the situation, I asked them to flip it back. They offered me a desk fan. Which would just be like making it a fan forced oven. I told them to work something out, a while later I checked it and cool was available again (and warm was not), so I could cool the room down. Whoever wanted the heat on my level 6 "executive floor" (as the lift said) were going to get a rude awakening. Also have to ask for face washers, they're not included in the room. They'd run out when I asked. They did find one later and bring it up though, so that was a plus. Oh also they didn't design the rooms well enough and you might trigger the smoke alarm just from having a shower and that's apparently your own fault so get ready to pay $6k for the fire brigade. That was extremely irritating to read. I followed the instructions and was fine but I'd rather not stay in a hotel that threatens you for using the shower with...
Read moreDuring this trip to Australia, I stayed in 6 hotels, and this one was the worst. The room is very small, and the usable area is only 11 or 2 square meters according to visual inspection. The facilities are old, the windows cannot be opened, and there is a strange musty smell in the key room that cannot be dissipated at all. The smell is worse when the air conditioner is on, but it's 36 degrees and it can't be done without the air conditioner. We made a reservation in August to check in in mid-December, which was not a holiday, and the price per night was nearly 1,100 yuan. But when we checked at the hotel, we found that it was only about 700 yuan per night in the next few days. I don't know how the price could be so different. If you were either cheated by Ctrip, you were cheated by the hotel. They would simply reply that seasonal fluctuations are normal. It costs more than 40 Australian dollars to take an Uber from the airport to the hotel, but it cannot park in front of the hotel and can only park on a side road. The hotel said that if they help book a taxi, it can stop in front of the hotel. We asked the hotel to book a car on the return trip. Unexpectedly, the driver later charged us a fixed price of 80 Australian dollars, saying that 10 Australian dollars would be paid to the hotel, and the hotel was booked at this price. The fare is too expensive, but we have to fly back to China and are not in the mood to call and negotiate with the hotel. The only advantage of this hotel is that it is located in the city center with convenient transportation, right next to QVB. Of course, those who are afraid of noise are best not to stay here. We were living on the second floor at that time, and we had to close the curtains when we returned to the hotel, otherwise passers-by could see everything in the room. In short, I do not recommend this hotel, the price/performance...
Read moreMy wife and I have stayed at this hotel 3 times, this visit was with our extended family to celebrate our wedding. As I arrived the day prior to our wedding I was asked for a payment to finalise the cost of the 5 rooms we had booked. This is where it went wrong… I was waiting 10 mins away for my bride to arrive for our wedding shoot when I received a call from her in tears saying that on her way out of the hotel ( in her wedding dress ) she was stopped and asked to finalise payment. When she had told the lady behind the desk it was all paid for, she was told it wasn’t and was asked to pay and even made to return to the room to find proof / receipts. I told my wife to stay where she was as I didn’t want her travelling to meet me in tears on her wedding day. I phoned the front desk in frustration ( of course ) and was told they had made a mistake and have confirmed we had paid in full. What I could not understand was… why someone would push a bride on her wedding day to the point of tears and why it couldn’t have been left until the following day as we still had rooms to stay in that night ! What was supposed to be the best day of our lives was rudely interrupted by the front desk staff incompetent attitude in a professional situation. The offer for a redemption was a bottle of wine, chocolate’s and an hour extra the next day in our rooms. Hardly a fair offer after what...
