So - I’m getting married - and one of the biggest decisions is catering. Do you play it safe? Do you go fancy? Why do cakes cost so much? Do they use wagyu milk icing or something? Sit-down service … or buffet? Brothers and sisters. HEED MY CALL! Let it be known that AFGHAN ROYAL CATERING IS FIT FOR A KING. My experience was great. Sayed met with me beforehand; we organised the menu, he was flexible and easy to talk to, and all at good prices. Oh also - THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Our menu had mantu, shami kebab, chicken tikka, chicken korma, kabuli palaow, zereshk chalow, borani banjan, and even a firnee dessert. (Also all the sides like naan, yoghurt dip, salads). Our guests LOVED the food alhamdulillah!!! I am personally still not over how fresh and juicy the kebabs and tikka were šŸ˜‹. On the day they even came to our venue and set up and served. Sayed stayed the whole time to make sure everything was okay. My whole experience with him and Afghan Royal restaurant was perfect - and this is priceless when you’re in the middle of wedding planning! Also, the extremely delicious food thing. I cannot recommend enough. Thank you Sayed! You are an absolute KING. Jazakallah.

9 of us booked a table in advance and went for dinner. Ordered 2 'Family Platter 2'. We just changed the 'naan' of the platter to 'garlic naan'. The restaurant staff came after 10 minutes and said that one rice item mentioned in the menu will take a long time to prepare and he mentioned the name of another one and said that it will not take much time to prepare. So the rice that was prepared in less time was selected by us (forgot the name). Anyway, it took them about 40/45 minutes to serve the food. But I have to admit that the food was very tasty. One of the items we ordered was 'dogh' (a yoghurt drink with mint). This drink was ordered in 1 jug but nobody liked it, it was topped with dry herbs instead of fresh mint. Every time I sip, the dry herbs were very annoying. So in the end we had to order soft drinks again. All the items ordered except this drink were very tasty. The kebabs were soft, smelled nice and every kebab had a different taste. Garlic naan and the rice was also good (though the rice was a bit oily for me).

I've eaten here a couple times previously also, a long time ago, havent had the time to eat again and today first time I ordered this Lamb Daal Naan dish, Seriously, it was great, freshly prepared, the lamb shank 😲 was cooked perfe tly, tender, and delicious but most of all, I was astonished to pay just 18 dollars for the entire meal which easily costs 25 to 30 bucks if eaten elsewhere around Campbelltown, not talking about Lakemba or Auburn because there you can eat for cheap but these guys here are giving it really inexpensive and food was of great quality, ate fully, plates cleaned. šŸ˜„ I knew they charge less before hand as I've eaten but getting a lamb shank with a lentil plate and naan altogether for 18 is a deal. Keep up the great food and less prices, not many restaurants in these Sydney western areas offer such food at such prices.

We booked on Tuesday via phone for a table of 4 for buffet on Saturday. It was confirmed however the girl in the phone didn’t event ask our name. So we reminded her to take our name and she said oh yes of course. Should have known there and then that she would muck it up and guess what, we arrive to the restaurant and they couldn’t find our booking. The young guy wouldn’t believe us and we even showed him the phone call log record to their phone number and even then he said we have to stand and he will try to se what he can do??? Seriously you will try??? We booked 5 days in advance and because of your mistake we have to wait and stand and hope for the best to get a table??? I told him why we have to wait because of their fault…and then he takes it personally saying it wasn’t him who took the booking…well WE DON’T CARE if it’s you or someone else, for us it’s the restaurant who made the mistake, doesn’t matter it’s him or someone else, but for us it’s the restaurant who did the mistake and so don’t tell me about you…from our point of view it’s the restaurants mistake… And then after long wait they found us a table…. Food was mostly dry and didn’t have much flavor. Some dishes were not refilled and we had to look for staff to fill it up. Overall very poor customer service with the lady who took our booking and didn’t record it…and then with the young guy in the counter who wouldn’t believe us and instead his main and sole focus was to defend himself saying...

If I could give you a negative rating I would. We did a big order yesterday, i clarified over the course of 2 days asking which foods were dairy and soy free because my child has an allergy. A woman spoke over the phone the night before and said a few items contained dairy. when placing the order a man taking the order stated something completely different to the woman and that there was no dairy in the items I had ordered with the exception of the bread. I thoroughly went through examples of dairy in food such as ghee, butter, yogurt in the marinades, meats, rice, bread. The man taking the order guaranteed that he would take an hour but would make the food dairy-free and soy-free. My husband collected the food and re-checked the allergens. This morning my son woke up with severe allergies and is throwing up!

I will never trust this place again. I will be reporting to the NSW food authority. employ people that understand the significance of allergies. I’m far from impressed. All we needed was honesty. It was very clear they just wanted to make the sale and did not take...
