RUDE SERVICE
My husband and I came for a coffee, ordered a long black and pastry ($8 deal) and an iced mucha.
When I tasted my mocha, (only one sip!) it was too sweet, too Much sugar, so I kindly came inside and said the mocha was really really sweet, if I could change it for a regular iced late cause their chocolate was too sweet. They said of course no problem, we will make another one.
They brought the new iced latte, which was fine.
When we came in to pay, they charged us $22. We said there must be something wrong as we had one long black and pastry deal, and one iced mocha. ($8 + $7!!!!)
The manager Michael said “your bill is $22 cause you had also an iced mocha”. I said no, I didn’t, I tasted it and gave it back as it was too sweet, to which you agreed to change it for a new one, and took my one back and chucked it.
The manager said that by agreeing to change my iced mocha (to which I had only one sip) he meant he would charge for the new item, even though he took back from me the overly sweet mocha.
Then he said I have to charge for both as you already had drank the mocha, but I HAD ONLY ONE SIP - I COULD NOT HAVE KNOWN IT WAS SO SO SO SWEET WITHOUT TASTING IT. If they would have said they can’t change it that’s totally fine, but if you take it back why would you charge me?!
Then he got aggressive, calling us ridiculous, that we were out of line asking not to pay for the iced mocha, banged the counter, and told us to get out, and smashed the door behind us when leaving. (Even though we had paid the full $22 and we will contact the owner to follow this up)
This manager was extremely rude and they we just EMPTY -...
Read moreI was embarassed. Walked in, stood at “Wait here to be seated” ignored by a staff member. I’m 6’5 and the only minority in the cafe so i’m hard to miss. Next, 2 people came in and was greeted right away by one of the waiters and was sat down 2minutes later, I thought, well okay maybe theres a reason for this that i’ll just give them the benefit of the doubt so i wont say anything just yet and be patient. Next another person walks in, greeted right away and overhearing there conversation, they were just like me, just there to have breakfast and coffee. I approached the waiter and asked her how do I get a table, she looked at me blank, and she said how long have you been waiting? I told her I’ve been here before the 2 people you’ve given a table too and then she said she didn’t know I was waiting for a table WHILE I WAS STANDING AT WAIT HERE TO BE SEATED. She then had the nerve to say “ok, well let me find a table for these guys first(NEW PEOPLE THAT CAME AFTER ME) and then i’ll find you a seat.” So I had to wait again in an already filled cafe. It’s embarrassing for me and can’t help but to think why is the only brown person waiting for a table being overlooked and not greeted as he entered the door but everyone else does? I was polite in everything I did in the cafe and took everything well, told the waiter it’s okay, I’ll go somewhere else because there was going to be another long wait. Felt...
Read moreThis is my new favorite place to go for breakfast. The staff are very friendly and fast. They also cater for vegans by offering vegan options on their menu, as opposed to many Cafes where I just had to order a slice of bread and half of no-taste avocado. Vegans also like fancy prepared breakfast :) The food tastes amazing and their smashed avocado is just a MUST-TRY! Coffee tastes great as well, they have soy and oat milk options if you prefer non dairy. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I found it very oily. I ordered the truffle mushroom( vegan option) on bread, and there was drizzle of oil all over the plate and even on the bread. I would rather have it with less oil, but it is my personal opinion and need to mention it next time. Would highly recommend it and go back again. They have kids...
