It happened at about 10:30PM 21/09. At first we ordered beer and sparkling wine but the lady accidentally gave us sparkling water. After we paid everything and she correctly pouring us the sparkling wine, we asked her did we pay for the water as well she said yes, so we said âIâll take the water okâ and took it. We have not drunk it yet, just put it on our table. Then the manager (the man with the mustache, bold ) came and took the water, walked straight away saying âyou have to pay for the water, itâs not freeâ with a very rude attitude. We told him we paid for it (at this time we didnât know that we were not charged), but he just walked away saying âno your did notâ and the ladies behind the bar were smiling. It might be the miscommunication between us and the lady who served us, but the manager could ask us if we have paid for it and clarify instead of just taking the water away from our table. We talked to him after our drinks, he said because we did not pay for it and took the water from the bar so we were rude first, I believe it was not our fault because we asked the staff and I told him that. I asked him âso you can be rude to us as well?â He said âYeahâ. As a manager, he should have the ability and responsibility of investigating the situation before assuming anything. . I do not understand was it the normal attitude towards guests here or it just towards us because...
Read moreI have been going to this pub for years and always felt welcome until recently when Lee the manger moved on to be a regional manager. Since then some of the staff have been rude, incompetent, and come across as though they couldn't be bothered, and were more interested in fixing each others hair In the gambling area than serving customers. I asked to speak with the manager and the staff member said she was and I was shocked to the point of laughter. They couldnât handle an issue that had nothing to do with me, with her screaming at the top of her lungs like Banshee at another CUSTOMER, which was very unpleasant. Totally unprofessional. When I said I wasnât happy, I was blamed. Until this joke of a manger is gone I wonât wasting my time or be spending my money there and have told many about this change for the worst in one of my once favourite pubs. Much better option down the road at the crocodile. Professional, pleasant staff and a much better atmosphere. Such a shame for the Ashfield Hotel. They need to lift their game big time. How they get away with this pathetic level of whatâs barely customer service...
Read moreThe staff here are amazing. Very nice people there all welcoming and great people! However pub use to be quiet good but the last two years I can say the food is not very consistent if the bigger guy cooks the food is amazing, but when his kitchen hand cook itâs not great my nachos was cold I sent them back! The tap beer feels like itâs super old or the pipes need to be changed, the first beer is fine then second and third makes you feel sick, now I know why people always drink spirits or bottled beer The hotel has no air conditioning, itâs a oven box! The gaming room is however nice and cold! They need a make over itâs becoming very run down we drink beer a lot so you notice these things. However playing pool with the locals is fun and the...
