Second time we've gone to this bar, one of the best around for the theatre of cocktail! The first time we were amazed at the flaming cocktails, oozing mists and smoky trails. Their Old Fashion is one of my favourites. This time we were able to try some new additions not yet on the cocktail menu! The atmosphere of cherry blossoms, waterfalls, mists laden with mystery really gives the Baby Dragon Bar a unique stage for their cocktails. However, this time we wanted to try the food as last time we'd tried only the cocktails after dinner. We started with the Cajun Tiger Prawn Shot with Mango Butter Sauce, Saffron & Old Bay Spice. The sauce was excellent, but the prawn needed to be tail up so the prawn meat can absorb the sauce. Not sure but the prawn could be fresher, and maybe three prawns to compliment the sauce. I'm a bit of a fan of Indian Panipuri (The Nepalese ones tend to be too hot spice wise for me) so I was intrigued to try the Dahl Puri, with a filling of spiced potatoes, yoghurt, pomegranate & coriander. As soon as I popped one in my mouth, although not a water ball as such, there was an explosion of flavours - I'd go back to the Baby Dragon Bar just for those! Yum! Then we had the Kingfish Kinilaw which is every bit as good as the fish we were served at the Berowra Waters Inn a few weeks earlier. Soooo good! Another to return for. As we really liked the food the manager shouted us a taster of the Ayam Baka, which is an Indonesian chicken dish, which my partner exclaimed "The chicken melts in your mouth!" Extremely impressive! They also shouted us two new cocktails not on the menu for our opinions - really cool! We had a dessert called Maja Blanca, a coconut & sweet corn pudding which was really good, but next time we'll go straight to this place as we were really full. I'd suggest maybe corn niblets in the pudding as an extra flavour burst. We were looked after like we were royalty, the service was so good! If you want a night of cocktail theatrics and heavenly food I'd heartily recommend Baby Dragon Bar, but sit at the bar to watch them make...
Read moreShowing great commitment to creating a transportive experience, Baby Dragon Bar in Enmore is worth a look. We were personally welcomed in by mixologist, Quinton Seeto, who took us through a cave-like corridor of dripping greenery to our pre-booked table. This bar is a visually impressive space, like a movie set complete with waterfalls, vibrant projections and a sakura tree in full bloom. Being first in the bar, Seeto gives us a free pass to order Earth Wind & Fire ($26), a warm swirling mix of Beenleigh copper pot rum, vanilla and chocolate liqueurs and absinthe, finished off with orange peel and a little grated dark chocolate. While it’s not one of the happy hour specials (which are not two-for-one, just 49 per cent off by NSW Government decree) it is a fiery bit of table entertainment that leads to an enjoyable drink.
We become more adherent with the rest of our selections as the small bar fills up around us. Golden Ganesha ($24) is my pick of the list, especially if you like salted caramel. It teams banana-infused Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey with salted caramel and old-fashioned bitters then tops it off with a salted banana crisp. A Fiery Kiss from Rati’s Lips ($24) is basically a spicy margarita update. Made with chilli-infused mezcal, vanilla liqueur, chilli, saffron, pineapple and lime it was a little bit sweeter than I was expecting. I preferred the way they have meddled with the Long Island iced tea. Their Lost Island Iced Tea ($26) takes the usual vodka, white rum and gin, and throws in some absinthe and orange liqueur balanced by lemon, lime and mint and lengthened with house-made dragonfruit soda. It’s all too easy to drink. With a high level of hosting, and effective table service, I would definitely return to do more...
Read moreI went with bunch of my friends to celebrate my birthday but it turned out to be very uninviting experience. Its not because of food or ambience but because of the treatment we got from this particular staff. It looked liked the bar was understaff that day but it doesn’t mean we would get treated as if we don't even exist there. When we first called him, he didn’t even hear us. We thought it might be because he was busy serving other customers but he kept ignoring us. When he came to us give the menu, he was not even polite with his tone and I told my friends he was a bit rude. But one of my friends said it may be his personality. I agreed with her and praised her for her positive thinking about this guy but it turned out to be the other way. He kept giving us that cold attitude. When my friend asked him what is the popular drink there, he said “it depends on your taste”. He didn’t even bother to explain what are the popular drinks. Waiting staff in other bar do recommend the popular drinks and explain about them. But this guy doesn’t have customer service knowledge. At the end of our stay, we saw him being very sweet spoken with other customers next to our table. Omg!!! this guys even knew how to smile. What a shock!!! No one would want this sort of treatment in a restaurant, bar or any other eateries. My birthday was ruined because of his unprofessional behaviour. Won’t visit again. I don’t recommend. Visit this bar on...
