I usually like to come to the Lord Roberts and have been there for many parties and dinners and I always enjoy the people there, staff, food and DJ.
It is why yesterday I decided to come with all my colleagues from work, we were a group of 15 people. It was a farewell of my manager. We arrived at 5:30pm and we noticed all the tables outside were booked for Lime Night Autumn ! I received on Facebook the invitation for this party and I confirmed I will be attending this event. 1 hour after arriving with my colleagues I had the pleasure to meet an employee from the Lord Roberts in charge of the tables outside, the employee came to see us (after everyone paid at least 2 drinks per person and still have to finish these drinks) and asked us to leave the tables because they needed the tables for the people who will come to this party.
I told the employee there is no one here at the moment, (according to the reserved signs on the tables this was to be at 7pm and itâs was before 6:30pm they approached us) This employee really loudly asked me to show my Facebook invitation and they didnât trust me because itâs a lesbian party! I answered, âthatâs fine we dont have a problem with thatâ and I said I am gay. The employee replied to me again itâs a lesbian party! Really upset and repeated a few times I need the tables I need the tables !!! Obviously this employee lost the control of their situation and was extremely rude!!
I donât know if I was shocked because obviously this employee has no idea about customer service, or if I was shocked because I realised 15 people from our group were excluded to be at the venue because we were not all lesbian.
I received the invitation on Facebook for the lime Party and nowhere does it mention it is a lesbian only party? So why did I receive this invitation if thatâs the case and why the attitude from the Lord Roberts staff member had to be like this!!! I always enjoy going to the Lord Roberts because it has always been a place of no discrimination, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mind to want to return as often as I do. I never write a review about anything, but I canât accept discrimination and rude behaviour especially when the Lord Roberts has always been a comforting place for me to come as I am part of the LGBTI community. The Lime Night Autumn invitation on Facebook that was sent out to 798 guests including many men, of these 40people accepted and confirmed to attend this event. I felt it was not necessary to discriminate against a group of 15 people and ask them to leave the table (who you donât know if they are lesbian/gay or not because there is no licence to prove this) because we were not all lesbian in this employees eyes. I hope this will change and all staff are better trained to speak with customers in an appropriate manner when events like these...

A solid but unexceptional local in a part of Sydney that has a lot of pubs and bars on offer. Rather strange layout, although once you're settled there's no need to roam (ie to find a beer). Perhaps I caught the staff on a bad night, but they were strangely immune to my jokes and flirting. As it is, the Lord Roberts is the sort of place one could happily enjoy a session with family or friends if one happened to be in the neighbourhood, but I wouldn't make make a trip across town just for a visit.
Missy The Cat Star Ratings:
5 - a place of rare genius that merits repeated return visits
4 - a strong effort with no major shortcomings
3 - a solid, worthy effort with perhaps one important thing to fix
2 - several important things wrong, but at least one important thing right
1 - can't be given a zero, doesn't deserve a dollar (as of...

We came on the weekend on a rainy day. The Asian staff member who was working upstairs was extremely rude and dismissive. We had lunch and ordered the bangers and mash along with the chicken schnitzel. The mushroom gravy for the schnitzel was the same as the gravy for the bangers and mash. The gravy was watered down with mushroom pieces. There were bits of mushroom in the bangers and mash too. The guy who served me was on his phone whilst serving me and didnât seem to give two hoots about taking my order. Our drinks came just before our food and it wasnât busy. He was too busy playing with phone and couldnât pour a beer and or make a gin & tonic. The food wasnât great either. Under seasoned.
Not sure how this place...
