I recently visited the Beach Club at Watson's Bay Boutique Hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I decided to order a bowl of fries with dip, which cost me a staggering $13.90. However, when the dish finally arrived after a lengthy 25-minute wait, I was shocked to find that the quantity of chips was close to nothing, especially considering the hefty price tag. The lackluster portion size of the fries left me feeling unsatisfied and even somewhat ripped off. It's disheartening to pay such a high price for what essentially amounted to a handful of chips. The value for money was severely lacking in this aspect. To make matters worse, the service provided by the girl taking my order was subpar, to say the least. Her customer service skills were non-existent, and it was evident that she could benefit from some training in this area. Her indifference and lack of attentiveness further exacerbated my disappointment with the overall experience. If there was an option to give a rating of 0, I would certainly choose it. The combination of exorbitant prices, minuscule portions, lengthy waiting times, and poor customer service makes it difficult for me to recommend the Beach Club at Watson's Bay Boutique Hotel. I hope that they take these criticisms constructively and work towards improving their offerings and service quality in the future.

Terrible fish and chips. Fish fell apart and one piece had a bit of blue plastic in it (see photo) so it's obviously frozen and not fresh. My friend ordered a bucket of prawns and when she was almost done eating staff came around asking if she remembered her buzzer number and then proceeded to ask every patron with a bucket of prawns the same question. So random I think a patron stole someone else's prawns and they were trying to find out who - just shows how broken their system is. Very expensive food and drink. They charge you a credit card surcharge without telling you until it's too late. I didn't try the toilets as I was worried they might be just as terrible. They have big group tables if you are crazy enough to hold an event there. Awful service, staff just standing around chatting and having a good time. Other patrons are rude and don't understand how to queue up. Venue is actually nice and had a decent view. It is a hassle to get to unless you rely on the ferry to turn up on time. One good thing is if you sit near the front, you can see the ferry arrive and quickly exit the venue. I won't be back.

The service and management at this establishment leave much to be desired, offering a quality of service below that of typical pubs. While the location and view draw in customers, the management must prioritize improving the service provided. Basic necessities such as clean tables, water, and cutlery are not readily available, requiring guests to retrieve them from the bar themselves. Most notably, I made a reservation for a birthday celebration and requested a special arrangement. However, upon arrival, I was simply told to find any available seat, which disregarded the special request entirely. If special requests cannot be accommodated, it would be more appropriate not to offer this option to customers. I was left ashamed in front of my guests. During my visit, I ordered the Burrata Caprese, Fried Calamari, Roasted Barramundi, and Mushroom Pizza. The entrée and pizza were enjoyable; however, the Barramundi was fried excessively, resulting in an overly oily dish that stood out as one of the least satisfying seafood experiences I've had. Calamari was too salty.

Do not go here if you have dark skin. I was entertaining three of my guests from the USA. We arrived at 1pm and were given a table which had a reservation from 2.30pm on the condition we leave by 2.30, which we agreed to. We had two bottles of wine and my guest ordered food which was delivered to our table. The guy who brought the food to our table was pleasant and remarked that he was there to make sure we had a good time. During the next hour we were greeted by two more staff who were extremely helpful and inquired if there was anything else we needed. At no stage did any one of them state that we should not be eating the food that we had purchased and we were consuming. At 2.15, a staff member who we later found out was a manager, walked up to us as and asked us to vacate the table, which we agreed to do. But, she then followed to insult my guests and I for consuming food that was bought from the beach house, but, from the takeaway counter. We apologised as we had not idea that it was the case. She still continued to be rude and nasty to my guest and we decided to leave, because by this stage it was ruining a perfectly good afternoon. On my way I out, I decided to bring this to the attention of one the ladies who had been extremely helpful earlier, only to have this manager walk up to me, and in front of my other guest berate me. I mentioned to her that I was a customer and that she needed to learn how to speak to a customer, at which point she accused me of shouting at her and then called the security guard. When the security guard arrived she accused me again of shouting at her at which point her asked me to listen to her which I did. Having listened to her I asked to speak to her manager at which point she informed that she was in charge. I told the security guard what had happened and he said we should leave. She also demanded that we produce the receipt for the food to identify the person who had taken the order, and when I refused proceeded to get even more irate. I stated it was not my problem to deal with practices that did not work in your establishment. At this point the Manager of the bar arrived and my friend who was visiting from the USA, a Radiologist with over 35 years experience and I explained to him, that had we known the protocol, we would have ordered food from the correct bar and paid accordingly. This manger was completely understanding and agreed with us. At this point the rude manager tried to insinuate, that she was trying to find us an alternate table, which was a lie. What ruined the afternoon was that My guest and I are all brown skin folk and we were insulted by an ill mannered and badly trained staff member from Eastern Europe. A establishment such as yours should hire people who are more in tune with Australian values and culture than what she is used to. If this is the standard of service we should expect. Please put up a sign that states. NO DARK SKIN PEOPLE ALLOWED. Stuffed up my day and my...

HORRIBLE. I came here with my mom and keep in mind she is a fully asian woman whereas I am mixed and look more like my white father. We walk up at around 8:30 am (we come every weekend for a coffee in the early mornings) and I left to sit on a bench while my mom ordered the usual. There was a younger worker (maybe 19-20) and my mom asks to order and she doesn’t reply. My mom asks again louder and closer to the worker and instead asks what time they are open. The girl replies with ‘11’ with no context or friendliness and even after my mom explains that she comes here weekly in the mornings, the girl just replies with ‘11’ again even though my mom made it clear that she was here for the coffee and not the lunch. My mom doesn’t mind and begins to walk away, but she sees a white couple come up and order, with the working girl immediately taking their order. My mom begins to get upset but instead of confronting the worker and starting a scene, she goes to a different older male worker and tells him the situation but he doesn’t apologise or sound sincere and just replied with ‘I’ll talk to her’. So now my mom walks up to the lady again and was asking her why she rejected her order and mid conversation the previous male worker comes out and instead of asking about the situation (although my mom had already explained to him) he just asks my mom ‘are you going to order coffee or not?’ My mom clearly upset, tells them that she was going to but isn’t now after the incident. Overall this experience was disappointing and disgusting. I’ve seen my mom experience racism before in public etc but I did not expect it from a favourite restaurant next to our home that we visit frequently. This was truly horrible. Never coming back anytime soon. Do not recommend. If there was a option for zero stars, I would’ve...

Zero customer service, and no understanding even when something is their own fault. Will never return here. We use to come to this place every once in a while as we live 2 minutes away. Food was not the best but we came as the location compensated for the food. Today I had dropped my wife and in laws with my 6 month old baby and our little cavoodle at the venue for lunch, as I had to go and come back later. They had been taken to the inside area. An hour later I returned, and got my wife to order me a burger so it would be ready when I arrive. As soon as I got in and joined my family, one of the staff (a guy with a mask on) who I’m thinking may have been the manager came as said “there is no dogs allowed inside” - mind you my family had been sitting there for an hour, away from everyone else, and the dog was sitting in the corner AWAY from everything and everyone else. We said your other two staff asked us to sit here from the start - your two staff were OK with the dog. The manager responded “they didn’t know, you have to move outside”. I don’t know how two staff did not know there were no dogs allowed??We couldn’t move outside as it was a very cold windy day, not ok for our 6 months old - I’m sure a sensible person would appreciate. I asked my family to go home, while I stayed there alone eating the greasiest, smelliest, most tasteless burger I’ve ever had. In hindsight I should have just asked for a refund before the food even came, don’t know why I stayed after my family had to leave. Food quality has definitely declined here as well. Customer service is more important than the food. Will...
