My friends and I had decided to have lunch today (~1:40pm 18/05/2023) at Bonditony’s after hearing about the amazing experiences many people have had whilst dining here.
Unfortunately however, we were not able to share the same experience as many other customers due to the extremely rude waitstaff who attended to us and her uncalled for attitude towards us. When she came to our table to take our orders, my friends each announced their own order while my partner ordered for the both of us as we were both getting the same meal (Trippin Zeahorse) saying “2 Trippin Zeahorses please”. Perhaps it was just a case of miscommunication, but my meal was not prepared as she did not account for my order. Essentially, we only discovered this after waiting for the meals to arrive and hence had to make the order again, making me wait a little more for my food (which I was okay with as mistakes do happen). Maybe if the total table order was repeated to us as a quick confirmation before leaving and sending it to the kitchen could have avoided such a mishap? Just something to think about in the future.
Essentially, this little misunderstanding was not an issue to my myself, but what was to come after. When my food finally arrived, the same lady handed me my food and argued with me saying “You didn’t order with me”. Hence, I proceeded to say “ah he ordered 2 Trippin Zeahorses”. He was the 2nd person in our group to say our order to the lady, maybe this is why she continued and pointed to the first to members of my group saying “Yes 1 and 2. Do you understand?” and just rudely stormed off.
We were very baffled by this experience especially after seeing so many good reviews from others. As our group was made up of 5 asians and only 1 Caucasian, we‘re finding it hard to believe that this behaviour wasn’t caused by our racial difference to our waitress seeing as though everyone else dining in at the time (Caucasians) had smiles on their faces.
To the lady who served us, thank you for...
Read moreToday I went to Bonditony’s and I would like to start by saying that the burger is divine, simply perfect, worth the stop to eat, it would be a 10/10 experience if it weren’t for the extremely rude waitress. We ordered 2 burgers, a classic and a Burndy and she changed the orders, I always start eating just the chips and I didn't notice before. When I took the first bite I realized it was wrong, my boyfriend had already eaten more than half of the burguer and I politely went to see if it would be possible to change my order and she told me to change it with my boyfriend because it would be easier, when I said that he had already eaten a lot she changed my order reluctantly and threw the tray with the right order on the table looking at me ugly, she still stared while I was eating. I don't know how someone so tactless and zealless can work serving the public, especially because I didn't ask for anything other than the right thing to do, given that she was the one who made the wrong order, and that's fine, but at least treat others the way you would like to be treated. I've never experienced this in any establishment, but apart from this specific person who is, in my opinion, a huge loss to your team, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is super cozy,...
Read moreOrdered take away burgers for my housemates and I yesterday and we received 6 burgers in unmarked boxes - when we called up to ask how to figure out which burgers they were, or if perhaps there were any signs we coulnd't see, we were told that "that's just how we do it" and asked if any were GF?
We thankfully do not have any allergies, but having to open each burger to try and figure out what they contain is really not the most hygenic or pleasant way to start a meal - and one burger was wrong, which wasn't surprising, given they all come in the same box.
Perhaps it would be nice if customers could know what they are receiving, just a scribble really, regardless of whether it's GF/Veg or not :/
RE: To answer your question Tony, considering we are in lockdown and trying to avoid sharing food or cutlery as much as possible in a big share house with two essential hospital workers and two warehouse workers... the fact we had to individually open each burger and pass them around as we had no idea what each contained sure is a concern. But sure, if you want to throw my constructive feedback in the bin, go for it. In the meantime, we are just trying to do the...
