NYC Manhattan vibes in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The interiors have an industrial-chic feel, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The menu is broad, offering classic breakfast/brunch dishes and lunch mains. Whilst the restaurant is only open M-F from breakfast to afternoon, the space is available for hire and private events in the evening. Situated in the heart of the CBD, its the ideal place for a breakfast meeting or work lunch. Plus there is take away for convenience.

I was impressed by the dishes we tried, each dish was well balanced with flavour and presented beautifully. The menu changes seasonally and supports local growers.

We tried the following dishes:

Lamb rump with curried carrots, pearl barley, crispy parsnip, roasted walnuts and smoked labneh. The lamb was succulent and juicy inside, I loved the Middle Eastern inspired flavours of this dish.

Market fish with baby fennel, cherry tomatoes, creme fraiche and salsa verde. This fish skin was super crispy, the fish was perfectly cooked inside. And impressed with the skins taken off the tomatoes.

Yellow fin tuna sashimi poke with with avocado, green papaya, sriracha mayo and macadamia. Poke bowls don’t get more colourful and healthy than this. Loved the nuts incorporated, never had macadamia in a poke bowl before.

Baby gem lettuce salad with truffle, yoghurt dressing, fresh peas and seeds.

Assorted fruit juices freshly squeezed. Definitely got our vitamins with these thirst quenching healthy juices.

Thank you to the team here for looking after me, the hospitality and service was flawless. I can’t wait to visit again!

Note: I dined as a guest of the venue. All views...

We ordered the Reuben, Soft-Shell Crab Burger and Burnt Carrots for a long lunch of which the last two are recommended.

The Reuben was OK, but lacked any real impact of flavour from the sauerkraut (despite asking for extra) and cheese as well as rye bread being rather dull. This was quite disappointing after reading more favourable reviews.

Comparably the burger and carrots featured fantastic flavours, well balanced and generously portioned. The slaw on the burger is a winner, capturing the 'Asian' element promised in the description and the carrots swimming in a tahini emulsion-style sauce is great (all the flavour, but nice and light). The Power Juice was a good finisher (if not ready for dessert), as wasn't overly sweet and very refreshing.

Value for money isn't quite there (particularly the Reuben considering it didn't hit the mark).

The service from staff was good, but management were rather rude and abrupt when paying. This alone would make me hesitant to return.

Bowery is quickly drawing attention from the local business crowd for leisurely meals during the day, and seems to be quite busy during dinner service as well. Breakfast options looked OK as well. Didn't quite...

A girly brunch took us to Bowery Lane located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and with really positive reviews I was pretty excited to try out the food. Hidden in what is known as 'Wintergarden' in the CBD, the entrance of Bowery Lane looks almost like a florist store-front with it's beautiful flowers, pots and rustic arrangements. Once you walk up the short flight of stairs you are welcomed to a really warm cafe. The concrete theme runs with the walls, plates, and tables, while the greenery and plants bring the outside in. They've married the inside and outside together so perfectly with the decor and furniture!

Food: 10/10

I loved every little bite I ate

Service: 9/10

We were served really wonderfully

Ambiance: 9/10

I love the concrete meets nature theme!

Menu: 8/10

The menu covers some really great options, with vegetarian choices and a combination of sweet and savoury too. I would like to see a few lighter brunch options however.

Value for Money: 9/10

Went here for lunch service after an appointment at Japanese embassy. Came after peak around 11. Service staff were very friendly and approachable. We were a family with 2 children. Even before we decided to dine in. A waitress came to us to ask if we were looking for parents room. Food and drink was delicious. We ordered starters only. The truffle chips and Korean fried chicken. Chips were the highlight for us. The coffee was really delicious too. Not sure what bean they used, but it really hit the spot. Though pricey altogether. The quality and service does do it justice. I would definitely come again to try something different. We didn't see high chairs and know the area is a business district. So would be curious to see how families would feel coming here during peak time.

We had a group lunch here. It was pretty good. As usual, I forgot to take photos. We had a set menu and the items were pretty good. It is costly, as there wasn’t a great deal of room to swing a cat. The starters were okay, salads were the typical new age weedy things you get these days. The beef brisket was pretty good. The lamb was alright, but wasn’t as fall off the bone as one would have hoped from the shoulder. Dessert was pretty good. Although my chocolate parfait did sorta taste like cheesecake consistency. Not that I’m complaining as it still tasted good. Table service was very good. The wait staff were attentive without pestering. I’d thoroughly consider coming back again. But it was pretty pricey.
