We saw this place across the road when we were visiting South Village. Thought we might give it a go. Upon entry I immediately loved the coffee roaster in the corner. The waiter greeted us in a friendly manner and showed us to a table. It's a unique space with the roaster and other equipment in plain view. I was initially a bit reluctant when I saw mention that the coffee was White Horse. Last time I tried that was a few years ago and I found it too strong. This said, today it was a superb brew, so I did not need sugar. We ordered some chips to share and we were also delighted by them. The herb mix and aioli were lovely. Definitely worth a visit. 😀

We really wanted to love this place, but it fell short for us. The venue is beautiful, had a European feel as we entered. We went for a busy and hectic Saturday brunch. The man that greeted us in front was really kind and found us seats within minutes. After sitting us down, we waited for ages until someone took our order, and overall, the service there was really slow. The food was average, and the coffees wasn't great because they used 'White Horse' coffee beans. Sorry, but not a fan of those beans! Such a shame because the interior was nice and their staff was very polite and friendly.

After a big day I wearily walked in around 2.30pm politely asking if the kitchen was still open. The greeting I received from the staff was actually amazing. Warm, friendly and very accommodating. Adam and Fred thank you for your genuine kindness, Jason busy behind the coffee machine and all the staff were amazing, nothing too much trouble. My meal and coffee both delicious and hit the spot to set me up for my 3.5 hour trip home 🙏 Thank you all so much, see you next time, Lee ☕️💐

The coffee is truly world class and the service is A1. Friendly staff who will stop and have a chat. 10/10.

Back again for brekky and the porridge was THE best I have ever had and of course the coffee was WOW just WOW.

Just back from my sticky chai latte judging up and down the coast and White Horse is still number 1, no other cafe comes close. And also, Jason makes a bewdy. Onya Brick Pit.

Another brekky and the porridge has gone to a new level, absolutely delicious and the coffee was as always, excellent. Brewed perfectly by the barista.

A young lady barista made my flat white this morning and she was poetry in motion and made the coffee...

Very confused waiter, who totally mis-heard my order that I had to repeat 3 or 4 times!?!?… he then accused me of having a “wandering mind”. When I later explained it was impossible for me to have said what he thought I was saying, he became even more indignant.. and that’s not the first time I noticed weird, anti-social behaviour there (I’ve only been 3 times). Decided to go to Coles and buy a “good quality instant coffee” with 10% grounds, after not drinking instant coffee for at least 30yrs… added 1/2tsp cinnamon and off we go to the races 😃… and don’t have to tolerate offensive ferals… and...
