This place has disgraceful service. Myself, my husband & my parents visited tonight to check out the new Brasserie & were refused entry as 3 of us had Drivers Licenses & my step dad had his passport. The 2 women at the front desk told me a passport was not acceptable ID, even if we were only there to eat. They then called the Duty Manager, who was a very rude young man with no concept of customer service who also told me a passport is not adequate ID. Mind you, he also had an Australian Medicare card, bank card, Senior's Card, Wenty Leagues Member Card & more than 100 points of elsewhere acceptable ID also. I have since looked up the Registered Club Act, which states "Under the Registered Clubs Act Patrons visiting any of registered clubs are required to produce suitable identification to gain entry to the premises. Suitable identification is primarily Driver’s License, Passport and Proof of Age Cards." So, not only were they rude & incapable of coming up with reasonable solutions, they were also wrong. They eventually let us in, after which we spent $160 in the Brasserie & $40 in the cafe, but that will be the one & only time we visit. Clubs are meant to be inclusive, friendly, community & people focussed places with excellent customer service. Not this one. Every member of staff we encountered - except one, Jenny, who was lovely & helpful - was rude, dismissive & acted as though everything was a problem. May I suggest Management & the Board read the other Facebook reviews &/or Google the club & see that I am not alone in my critique. Many people also feel the service & attitudes of the staff at this club is atrocious. Considering the amount of money spent on the recent redevelopment & renovations, I would think you would value patronage & repeat business - in which case it is definitely time to invest in staff training & customer...
Read moreI loved going to Cabra Digger for delicious food & atmosphere. However, today I’m very upset how I was treated as a customer of District 8 Bakehouse.
I bought 3 cake slices for $12 from District 8 Bakehouse. A young lady was serving me. I asked for 2 coffee & 1 pandan cake slices. After arriving home, I took a small bite of the cake then realised they gave me chocolate (wrong flavour). I drove back to the store, an older lady working didn’t look happy & refused to exchanged for the slice I took small bite. I explained to her its not my fault I was given wrong flavour, even the lady served me couldn’t tell the difference between the chocolate & coffee. I would have let it go if I like chocolate and wouldn’t troubled myself driving back to the store. Unfortunately, I don’t like chocolate flavoured cakes. The lady didn’t even apologise for the error. Instead she made me felt embarrassed by loudly saying ‘she took a bite & wanted exchange’! In front of other customers to hear. Other customers who do not know the situation would think badly of me.
Also spoke to a young lady whom claims to be the Manager of the store. She said will provide feedback to the older lady. But no apologies either. Instead, she asked me ‘how much did I bite into the cake?!’ I’m like are you serious?! ‘The issue here is you gave me the wrong flavour, I just wanted what I paid for and you asking me how much of the cake I ate?!!!’ Then she goes to explain they had previous customers who ate almost all the cake & came back to exchange. This goes to show how unorganised their business is! If this happened before they should do something about it.
All I wanted was what I paid for. If they make a mistake, they should apologise. I’m very upset I’m treated badly! Is this how they treat their customers? Although, I loved their cakes, their behaviour is...
Read moreI recently visited the Cabra-Vale Diggers Club, and despite the ongoing renovations, I had a pleasant experience overall. The club is undergoing some major transformations, which shows their commitment to providing an improved and modern space for their patrons.
One thing that stood out to me was the abundance of lounge areas available throughout the club. These areas provide comfortable seating options where one can relax and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. It's great to have such cozy spots to unwind and socialize with friends or simply enjoy some quiet time.
In terms of dining options, I found the food outlets at Cabra-Vale Diggers Club to be quite good. The District 8 Asian food section particularly caught my attention, offering a wide variety of Asian cuisine. Whether you're craving Chinese, Thai, Japanese, or Vietnamese dishes, you're likely to find something to satisfy your taste buds. The variety ensures that there is something for everyone, and it adds to the overall dining experience at the club.
The staff at Cabra-Vale Diggers Club were friendly and accommodating. They were attentive to customer needs and provided excellent service throughout my visit. Their positive attitude and willingness to assist made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. It's always a pleasure to interact with friendly staff members who genuinely care about the customers' experience.
While the renovations may have caused some temporary inconveniences, the efforts being made to improve the club are commendable. I look forward to returning to Cabra-Vale Diggers Club in the future to see the completed renovations and enjoy the enhanced facilities. Overall, I had a positive experience, and I would recommend this club to anyone looking for a nice place to relax, enjoy a meal, and spend time with...
