CAFE REVERSE — Restaurant in Sydney

New cafe with stunning modern interior space! Would have loved to sit outside, if there were umbrellas on the tables, as it was super warm and sunny, but great open courtyard space.

Friendly staff but not attentive service. Little things like, flagging the staff to order, no cutlery, chasing up forgotten drink orders, missing side orders, can hopefully improve with time and training for this new cafe.

Coffee was great and the food was okay, but extremely pricey. Especially with the added 10% surcharge on Sundays. $97 for 2x Adult breakfast meals and 1x kids meal + coffee, tea and a juice. Orange juice tasted way too sweet and concentrated. Disappointing when I thought I was ordering a freshly squeezed juice.

I had high expectations of this cafe given the reviews and the slightly above average pricing. I was not disappointed. The coffee was excellent. We each ordered a dish that we felt would be difficult to execute well and were really pleasantly surprised by how well the food was prepared - thoughtful ingredients, combined well with great flavour balance. Highly recommend and we will be back.

My only (minor) point of feedback would be to lower the volume on the music inside as we had to speak up a bit more to hear each other.

Recommend to sit outside as it’s extremely smoky inside. Not sure what’s wrong with the exhaust, I’ve been back twice but unfortunately both times I left smelling smoky and greasy :(

Also seemed like the team needed a bit more training. For a brunch place, food takes way too long to be served. This was our experience on both occasions. On average taking 30 mins or more for food.

Food was lovely though which is a shame because I’d love to be back to eat if not for the problems pointed out above.
