Canton House — Restaurant in Sydney

My wife and I have finally found our new favourite spot for Chinese takeaway – Canton House in Parramatta. After trying it out recently, we both agreed this is the kind of place you can rely on for generous servings, great flavour, and friendly service.

We ordered a mix of dishes – black bean beef, honey chicken, and sweet and sour pork – and each one was delicious in its own right. The black bean beef was packed with flavour, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The honey chicken was crispy on the outside, coated in that sweet glaze that makes it addictive, while the sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of tangy and savoury. It’s clear that the chefs know how to nail the classics.

One little bonus that made us smile – free prawn chips with our order! It might seem small, but it’s those touches of generosity that make you feel valued as a customer. Plus, the portion sizes overall were very generous. We had plenty to enjoy on the night and even some leftovers for the next day, which is always a win.

Price-wise, Canton House is excellent value. You get big servings of well-cooked, tasty food without it costing a fortune, which makes it a standout in a city where eating out can easily become expensive.

The service was fast and friendly, too. Our order was ready on time, everything was packaged neatly, and the staff made sure we left with a smile.

All in all, Canton House ticks every box for us – great taste, great price, and great service. It’s no wonder this has become our go-to spot in Parramatta for Chinese takeaway, and we’ll definitely be coming...

WOW!! My partner and I read the reviews and thought, ok let's try this place. It's a small restaurant, tiny even. Guessing it's a husband and wife business We were seated given the menu, ordered a Combination Laksa, Honey and Pepper Beef Fillet and Ginger and Shallot King Prawns. As well as plain boiled rice for 2. The boiled rice was $2.50 each. We had asked for the Laksa to be served first, sort of an entree. I thought this would be a nice starter before the beef and prawns. The Laksa arrived in a huge bowl, almost a mini bucket. Absolutely delicious, the best tasting we've ever had. The Beef and Prawn dishes were exceptional, fresh tasting, huge servings and so much rice we had to do the doggy bag thing, there was so much food left over. We don't live in Sydney but definitely know where we'll be going for Chinese next...

Paying full price for a meal, opening up the container to find out that it's only half full. What an insult. Their scam is charging $5 for a small rice & $6 for a large. You can't even get a meal with rice for less than $20 at this place.

Forget about a lunch special at this place! They gouge you for every $$. There's 2 other chinese places in Parra that do awesome $10/$12 lunches.

It's not as if the food is fine dining. The meat is always in very large pieces. The only possible reason for the high * reviews are that people have never eaten at another chinese take away before or they've never been out of North...
