Not happy with the booking of the Cloister Function Room that's adjoining the church.
We were well assured that all the construction (incl rubbish, electrical wiring, loose screws, wooden boxes with nails sticking out and construction equipment etc) was going to be removed before our booking (see image). Good thing we came the day before my daughters Baptism reception that was going to be held the next day because we cleaned the room ourselves, including sweeping the very dirty and dusty floor.
We were hopeful that the place was going to be cleaned before our booking, esepcially as we had very young kids present and we were concerned for their safety, unfortunately nothing was done. We only used the space and tiny part of the fridge, we can't comment on the other facilities as we didn't use them. We even left the room much cleaner than how we found it.
A very rude and dismissive apology and a 'in hindsight you shouldn't have booked the room' was given afterwards even though we were told 'not to worry' when we came to inspect two days before.
Baptism service was however very lovely, Deacon was amazing. We just regret booking their function room, we should have saved our money (100 per hour) and definitely booked...
Read moreParramatta Cathedral’s seating orientation might feel a bit unusual for those accustomed to other Catholic churches in Sydney, but I’d say it adds to its unique character. Rather than the traditional long nave layout, the design creates a more communal and intimate atmosphere, making prayer and worship feel more engaging and connected.
At first, the setup can be a little jarring, especially if you’re used to the usual church structure, but over time, it becomes clear that it fosters a real sense of togetherness. The openness of the space makes it approachable, allowing for a deeper sense of participation in the liturgy. Whether you’re attending Mass, spending time in quiet prayer, or simply admiring the architecture, there’s something special about how the space invites you in.
Beyond the seating arrangement, the cathedral itself is a beautiful place of worship, blending tradition with a modern feel. It stands as a significant spiritual hub in Western Sydney, welcoming people from all walks of life. If you’re looking for a prayerful and community-driven worship experience, Parramatta Cathedral is definitely worth a visit. It may be different from what you're used to, but that’s part of what makes...
Read moreThe Cathedral has a Very Roman Catholic feel. Construction material are at the finest quality. I Like the quality fitout and the atmosphere. It is renovating the internal halls.
It has a lot of channels to source money. Apart from merchandise. Charity. There’s also an option to donate your entire wealth as a mean to repent and be forgiven of the sins promising a chance to be accepted.
I wouldn’t doubt many people that has lived all their life without doing much good and at the end found out the answer and have woke up through the light giving them wisdom.
People like those carrying years of sins. Greed all their life with family issues. They might donate their wealth to Church then to give an inheritance to their own children that not one worth giving.
Oh God, in the name of my Father, and to thy Son, and the Holy...
