Came here for a Sun night bite with my husband and we ordered: 1. Beef carpaccio with truffle 2. Chicken wings 3. Fettuccine 4. Duck ravioli with truffle 5. Panna Cotta The beef carpaccio was on their Truffle special and we loved watching the truffle being grated onto the dish. Chicken wings were succulent and grilled nicely with a very tasty mayo on the side. The duck ravioli was unusual and once again, we loved the freshly grated truffle on top. The mince inside reminded me of spaghetti bolognese. The fettuccine was the dish I had looked forward to the most as last time I came here, I really enjoyed this dish. We finished with the panna cotta as my husband loved this during our last visit and I had a few bites. The light custard apple flavour pairs well with the fresh sliced coconut and berry jam. Service was very quick for the entrees but a little bit of a wait for our mains and quick again for dessert. Wait staff were attentive to some degree and fulfilled all requests quickly but I felt as though they could have smiled a bit more and made it out to enjoy their jobs more. It seemed very serious and tense most of the time watching them move about. Love all the trinkets and decorations around the place. Gave you something to look at while you waited for food. A word of warning though - it’s unlikely you will get a table location of your choice as it seems they are quite busy and reluctant to put a table of 2 upstairs where it seems to cater mainly for groups 4 and above. The first time we came, we sat next to the door and was unpleasant whenever it was opened as the cold air would blow in and we were not allowed to move to a table near the counter when it became available and the only tables left were the high bar ones. The owner at least made an effort to turn on the heater when we told them about the cold air coming through the door whenever it was opened. Yesterday we were offered a bar table near the counter as it was the only one left and when we asked to go upstairs, they told us it wasn’t available. They seem reluctant to let you pick your seating as it’s a small restaurant. Having a Dimmi Restaurant Month deal made this worthwhile for us although it didn’t apply to the Truffle special but we weren’t informed of this at the beginning when the menus were handed to us so we ended up paying considerably more than we thought we would.

Update December 2024šŸ¾šŸ‘Æā€ā™€ļøšŸ„‚ Christmas in full swing with some new additions to the menu. Try the oysters with crushed vodka ice- awesome! Owner and staff work hard to make sure you have everything you need. Recommend the buffalo cheese and tomato enter, rosemary bread, and the prawn pitza very good. It’s BYO wine. This restaurant keeps delivering excellent food and service. October 2024 updatešŸøšŸ·šŸ¹ We took a couple of friends here as we know it’s awesome. They were very impressed the food, service and atmosphere really is first class. It’s also BYO I’ve included some photos of a private space upstairs you can book for an event. Highly recommend this restaurant Love your local guide-Mā¤ļø August update Awesome food and service recommend upstairs if you want a quieter spot.ā¤ļø. Update July 2024 šŸ•šŸ„— Been twice in two weeks, once with family and last night with friends. All entrees on the menu are fantastic. . Pizza just went up a notch prawn amazing. Pear salad awesome and rosemary bead amazing!! BYO Owner attentive and friendly staff and service excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Sumptuous sensational and smart An imaginative menu with entrees able to be shared. We shared a salad, rosemary herb bread and greens cheese and nut dish. All excellent. Mains was dory fish served in a tomato based sauce with capers through it absolutely divine, our friend had prawn and pasta dish which was not quite as good. Reasonable wine list well priced with cocktails too. Some loverly deserts. The restaurant is across two levels with the downstairs vibrant as there is an open kitchen. Upstairs good for a larger group of say 6 or if on a date upstairs against the window looked good. Bathroom and parking are good. The owner of this restaurant takes pride in making sure all runs smoothly and this is backed up by an outstanding chef. A must visit restaurant. If you are on a date ask to go upstairs near the window it’s a bit quieter. Love your local guide - M🧔 Please like me if helpful, follow me even better🄰

Had the great pleasure of dining at Capriccio Osteria & Bar the night before the launch of their new spring menu and one word WOW! Beautiful simple but gorgeous decor, lovely atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff but most of all amazing, fresh, full of flavour delicious food! There was nothing to fault about our 9 course dinner (well could have done with seconds or thirds of dessert 😁) from the house made focaccia served at the beginning of the night to the Paris-brest with peanut butter cream & salted dulce de leche served for dessert each dish we had was unique in its own flavour and simply divine! As soon as we got the round of starters happening we knew it was going to be a good night! That Stracciatella with peas, broad beans, garlic and lemon 😱 Hard to pick our faves from the night but if we had to they would be the Spatchcock with cauliflower skordolia, red radish and cider soaked currents DELICIOUS! and the Squid ink Tagliatelle with blue swimmer crab, chilli and basil, flavours so simple and beautiful! Desserts oh where to start! Not much of a fan of cheese cake but we ate that strawberry and white chocolate cheese cake the same way Cookie Monster would eat cookies no lie! The Paris-Brest as mentioned before indulgent, creamy, light and lick your plate good! Head Chef Nicole Bampton is a creative genius who has had experience in some of the finest kitchens in Sydney! Outstanding job! If you are ever in the area or are looking for great Italian food be sure to stop by and try it all!!

We went to dine at this restaurant which we found on first table which had high reviews. Looking at google reviews, I told myself why not, let’s try it. I booked this place for my anniversary. We ordered our food and when it was time to pay, I looked at the bill and got shocked to see that it was $92. When you book at first table, you pay half the amount mentioned on the bill. So I asked the manager is this half of what I have to pay or the whole amount as it seems a bit expensive for half as we didn’t eat much. He took the receipt off my hand and said, it’s half in a rude tone and pointed it out on the bill. I told him okay. Then he said the entree you ate was $32 I said okay I didn’t even look at the prices I just ordered. Then I told him so we just ate $180 worth of food.. then he said, ā€œI don’t know where you eat your food but these are the pricesā€. I got very offended and paid and walked out. I left him a review of what had exactly happened on first table and a one star review on google. I honestly wouldn’t have if i hadn’t been spoken to like that and if he had taken the time to nicely explain or show how much each dish costs. The food that we also ordered wasn’t so great either but if he spoke to me nicely, and not made me feel cheap, he would’ve gotten a better review. He then keeps calling me 20 min after I’ve left the review, back to back, with two different numbers since I didn’t pick up, then send me a message, explaining why he was rude, and says he doesn’t make money on first table to which I replied and then he offers for me to go back to get me to change my review. (If you don’t make money on first table, remove your restaurant from there. It’s definitely not my problem). Regardless I felt bad so I came to change my review, and then saw that the manager has bad reviews going back a few years regarding the way he speaks to people and how overprice his food are and that they taste bland. I then decided to keep my review as I thought the manager can maybe read through those bad reviews and would try to change the way he talks to people and make his service better.

Update: He leaves me a comment today under my review, saying that I’ve said $92 is expensive. What I said is that $92 for half the bill is expensive. You charge us $180 if we were to pay...

Today my family came here to eat and we chose this restaurant as it has a whopping 4.7 stars review and we thought it would be a good spot to celebrate a birthday. We came here as a fairly large group and we understood that it gets busy around peak hour on a Saturday so items can take time to come out. However, 2 hours for 5 plates of pasta was unacceptable. If the pasta was good we would not have minded however the pastas were all blatantly bland. We ordered quite a few antipastos, a few pizzas (which we do admit is quite decent and came out at a reasonable time) and four different types of pastas.

We ordered 2 saffron fettuccine, ravioli, squid ink spaghetti and a vegetarian fettuccine that was not on the menu but they said they could whip up for us. All four pastas came out slightly cold and very bland. If we knew how watery and tasteless the vegetarian pasta would’ve been we simply would have stuck to just getting pizzas. It’s almost as if they bought some random assortment of frozen vegetables and tomato sauce, watered it down until all flavours bleed out of the vegetables and then tossed it onto the pasta – same vibe with the lamb ragu pasta (which had a bit more flavour as it has meat).

Honestly we would have said something but at that point after waiting for that long, we just wanted to get our food and get out. Additionally, when asking for takeaway boxes, we were told that the pizza box would cost $1 and the plastic container would cost 50c which is standard for restaurant (we understand), however, as we waited an insanely long time for our food we thought that they could at least comp the the $1.5 charge. When trying to explain our frustration, the manager (???) simply cut my aunt off with an ā€œi knowā€ and turned away, no apologies, no real acknowledgement. We found this rude and uncompassionate. We’re not trying to lowball you and get a discount (we ordered a lot of dishes and paid good money), we’re simply trying to give our input as customers.

Long story short - if you are trying to come here as a large group, I would recommend against it. Food was ā…– at best and service was ā…—. Subpar....
