Came here for a Sun night bite with my husband and we ordered: 1. Beef carpaccio with truffle 2. Chicken wings 3. Fettuccine 4. Duck ravioli with truffle 5. Panna Cotta The beef carpaccio was on their Truffle special and we loved watching the truffle being grated onto the dish. Chicken wings were succulent and grilled nicely with a very tasty mayo on the side. The duck ravioli was unusual and once again, we loved the freshly grated truffle on top. The mince inside reminded me of spaghetti bolognese. The fettuccine was the dish I had looked forward to the most as last time I came here, I really enjoyed this dish. We finished with the panna cotta as my husband loved this during our last visit and I had a few bites. The light custard apple flavour pairs well with the fresh sliced coconut and berry jam. Service was very quick for the entrees but a little bit of a wait for our mains and quick again for dessert. Wait staff were attentive to some degree and fulfilled all requests quickly but I felt as though they could have smiled a bit more and made it out to enjoy their jobs more. It seemed very serious and tense most of the time watching them move about. Love all the trinkets and decorations around the place. Gave you something to look at while you waited for food. A word of warning though - it’s unlikely you will get a table location of your choice as it seems they are quite busy and reluctant to put a table of 2 upstairs where it seems to cater mainly for groups 4 and above. The first time we came, we sat next to the door and was unpleasant whenever it was opened as the cold air would blow in and we were not allowed to move to a table near the counter when it became available and the only tables left were the high bar ones. The owner at least made an effort to turn on the heater when we told them about the cold air coming through the door whenever it was opened. Yesterday we were offered a bar table near the counter as it was the only one left and when we asked to go upstairs, they told us it wasn’t available. They seem reluctant to let you pick your seating as it’s a small restaurant. Having a Dimmi Restaurant Month deal made this worthwhile for us although it didn’t apply to the Truffle special but we weren’t informed of this at the beginning when the menus were handed to us so we ended up paying considerably more than we thought we would.

October 2024 update🍸🍷🍹 We took a couple of friends here as we know it’s awesome. They were very impressed the food, service and atmosphere really is first class. It’s also BYO I’ve included some photos of a private space upstairs you can book for an event. Highly recommend this restaurant Love your local guide-M❤️ August update Awesome food and service recommend upstairs if you want a quieter spot.❤️. Update July 2024 🍕🥗 Been twice in two weeks, once with family and last night with friends. All entrees on the menu are fantastic. . Pizza just went up a notch prawn amazing. Pear salad awesome and rosemary bead amazing!! BYO Owner attentive and friendly staff and service excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Sumptuous sensational and smart An imaginative menu with entrees able to be shared. We shared a salad, rosemary herb bread and greens cheese and nut dish. All excellent. Mains was dory fish served in a tomato based sauce with capers through it absolutely divine, our friend had prawn and pasta dish which was not quite as good. Reasonable wine list well priced with cocktails too. Some loverly deserts. The restaurant is across two levels with the downstairs vibrant as there is an open kitchen. Upstairs good for a larger group of say 6 or if on a date upstairs against the window looked good. Bathroom and parking are good. The owner of this restaurant takes pride in making sure all runs smoothly and this is backed up by an outstanding chef. A must visit restaurant. If you are on a date ask to go upstairs near the window it’s a bit quieter. Love your local guide - M🧡 Please like me if helpful, follow me even better🥰

Had the great pleasure of dining at Capriccio Osteria & Bar the night before the launch of their new spring menu and one word WOW! Beautiful simple but gorgeous decor, lovely atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff but most of all amazing, fresh, full of flavour delicious food! There was nothing to fault about our 9 course dinner (well could have done with seconds or thirds of dessert 😁) from the house made focaccia served at the beginning of the night to the Paris-brest with peanut butter cream & salted dulce de leche served for dessert each dish we had was unique in its own flavour and simply divine! As soon as we got the round of starters happening we knew it was going to be a good night! That Stracciatella with peas, broad beans, garlic and lemon 😱 Hard to pick our faves from the night but if we had to they would be the Spatchcock with cauliflower skordolia, red radish and cider soaked currents DELICIOUS! and the Squid ink Tagliatelle with blue swimmer crab, chilli and basil, flavours so simple and beautiful! Desserts oh where to start! Not much of a fan of cheese cake but we ate that strawberry and white chocolate cheese cake the same way Cookie Monster would eat cookies no lie! The Paris-Brest as mentioned before indulgent, creamy, light and lick your plate good! Head Chef Nicole Bampton is a creative genius who has had experience in some of the finest kitchens in Sydney! Outstanding job! If you are ever in the area or are looking for great Italian food be sure to stop by and try it all!!

Only good food found here, from the focaccia to the cheesecake this place is worthy of a visit if you want to try some good Italian cuisine. Expect to find a casual, friendly atmosphere with a decent menu, perfectly poured cocktails, a laid back al fresco vibes great for weekend lunches, family outings and groups. We ordered the chefs selection, which is a little bit of everything that is a variety of dishes that will offer you a well rounded experience to what Capriccio Osteria has to offer, this includes (in pics attached) oysters, focaccia, stuffed zucchini, oxheart tomatoes, carpaccio, and of course pizza and pasta. What I loved the most about Capriccio Osteria is the passion and philosophy behind the product. I found that quality of the produce and taste remained consistent throughout each dish, and while I enjoyed everything relatively equally the exceptional standouts for me was the focaccia and oxheart tomato salad. While I’m not normally a fan of bread, the focaccia was so incredibly light and moreish I will absolutely come back if nothing else but this, and the tomato salad was so fresh it felt like eating straight from the garden. A strong start is led by delicious finish with a homemade cheesecake that despite looking heavy and rich is actually quite light and yet so creamy. While Italian cuisine lovers are spoiled for choice in Leichhardt, Capriccio Osteria is locally loved, tried and true, and with Michele around it will still be there for the years to come.

Leichhardt is known as being the hub of the Italian community so I expected a really good Italian feast at this place... and boy did they deliver. A pop of yellow in the decor brings happiness to the place. They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an upstairs section. It got pretty busy during our time there and it was filled with all kinds of diners.. friends, couples and families with young kids. Though the place was busy, the owner still managed to come and have a chat with us which was lovely. The menu had just the right variety of dishes that could cater to anyone. They do encourage to share which is what I always do, because you get to experience so many different flavours and it keeps the dining experience exciting. We ordered half a dozen of the ‘Sydney Rock Oysters with lemon, lime & Vodka granita’, ‘Beef Carpaccio’, ‘Duck liver parfait’, ‘Zucchini Flowers’, ‘Squid ink spaghetti with blue swimmer crab’ and ‘Roasted Dutch carrots with honey whipped feta, salsa verde & roasted chickpeas’. Each dish was presented beautifully and across different types of colourful plates. I was a huge fan of the pasta dish. It was my first time having squid ink spaghetti and it had a good kick of chilli in it too. However, the Beef Carpaccio was the winning dish of the night.

Michael and his team were absolutely brilliant. You can tell from the minute that you get here that is a genuine and authentic family run restaurant who put true love and care into everything that they make and serve. We came for the 5 course meal that was truffle focused and it really did not disappoint. They have great seating inside and out with heaters and even blankets for the guests seated outside (like we were), great thinking there! The arancini balls were cooked to perfection with so much flavour and each one were quite big! Their truffle infused carpaccio was so flavoursome. The pasta was my personal favourite, so fresh, so buttery, nice thick fettuccini, you can’t go wrong, YUM! The pizza, wow, the dough was cooked to perfection whilst being nice and stretchy, the cheese, mushrooms and truffle are the perfect pair. Lastly, their banana rice ice-cream was so unique and we loved it! The owner Michael is a true gentleman, we had a great conversation with him and he even came out to serve us free homemade passionfruit liqueur. We had a great chat with the owner Michael and wow that’s the best hosting we’ve experienced in a very long time. Thank you Michael and the team. We will definitely be back!
