Chef Rasa Sayang — Restaurant in Sydney

The food was delicious YES but the worst service I have experienced in my life and I have been to a lot of restaurants. Never have I ever experienced such disrespect and rudeness from a waitress who served us. We booked in for 11 people and 3 children on Sunday 22nd of December at 11:30am for our annual Christmas Lunch with friends! We were hoping to have a nice and fun celebration that we usually have every year but this year turned out to be such a BIG disappointment because of the waitress that served us. We were first greeted with a smile from the guy but then from the beginning the waitress welcomed us with a sour look on her face. We were led onto the upstairs room where it was only us sitting there! She told us off for the pram then she told us off for being too loud, we were not even loud as we could hear people from downstairs who are even louder than us, we felt like we were walking on egg shells so we decided to close the door so that they can't hear us, we didn't even lock the door but the waitress violently kicked the door several times and screamed at us telling us don't lock the door when we didn't even lock the door. Then she violently served our plates on our table, spilt water on my friends chair that he had to clean up, spilt soup all over my friend's bag and when we told her to be careful she didn't care to even apologize, she still had attitude. Our main course came out without the rice so we asked her where our rice was then she said with an attitude they ran out of bowls so she can't serve it to us so we asked if they can put the rice on the plate and she said No and she said it with such a horrible tone in her voice. I have never ever met anyone lacking of respect to customers and the attitude that she has shown us turned us off from ever coming back to this restaurant no matter how good the food was. My friend who is a regular told her she was rude and she was embarrassed to bring us there (her friends), she's been there so many times but ever since that incident she will not return and nor will we. You shouldn't allow a staff like that to get away with such a vile attitude, she should never be allowed to work at any restaurants if she has so much hatred for customers. Rest my case! The one star is for the food but customer service...

I have never experienced such appalling customer service in my entire life! Even calling it customer service is a stretch, it is more like 'customer abuse'!

We went to this restaurant yesterday at 11.30am to celebrate Christmas with a big group of friends (11 adults and 3 children). We were seated on the second floor of their restaurant with no other customers. One of the waitresses came upstairs with a sour face and told us off for leaving my child's pram near another table. She also warned us not to bring outside food in the restaurant, when all we had was my 9 month old’s packaged baby food.

Ten minutes after our arrival, the same waitress came back upstairs and told us to be quiet because apparently we were too loud and that a customer downstairs complained about our noise level. So a friend of ours closed the door to minimize the noise from escaping the room. Not long after, the waitress started kicking the door repeatedly and violently, shouting 'Who locked the door? Open the door!' The door was only slightly shut and was definitely not locked. She barged in and angrily placed the food on the table, knocking a glass of water which spilled onto one of the chairs and knocked a bowl of soup which spilled into my friend's handbag. She ran off without an apology.

All the dishes arrived without the rice that we ordered, so we asked the waitress when the rice will be ready. She then said that they do not have any bowls left to put the rice in and that they are waiting for the bowls to be washed. She said in verbatim with a harsh tone, 'How can I serve you the rice when we don't have any bowls to put them in?' Instead of apologizing for the delay and explaining the reason for the delay.

A friend of ours who is a regular at this restaurant and who recommended our group to eat at this restaurant complained to the waitress afterwards. She told her that she was very rude and that she was embarrassed to take her friends there. She will not be returning to this restaurant and nor will we. The food was great but the appalling service that we received heavily outweighed it. Such disgusting behaviour, blatant disrespect and lack of basic manners is unacceptable in general, let alone in the...

I come here very often and love their food, laksa and fish soup noodle are my fave tho their price is slightly more expensive but this time so disappointed with their rude service I brought friends to visit this resto tonight, one of my auntie is vegetarian, we looked at the menu, saw vegetarian options then we went order at the counter we ordered vegetarian mee goreng which is in the vegetarian option on the menu when we were half done of our food, the mee goreng finally came with meat !!!! then we told the first staff we ordered vegetarian mee goreng, he told us there’s no vegetarian mee goreng ( 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s on the menu ), then we showed them we pointed at the menu to order it and then another lady came in a rude attitude to us said we didn’t state that we want a vegetarian mee goreng and the noodle is already ready so we were not allowed to change it !????? do you or do you not have vegetarian options, one said one, the other said yes and menu says vegetarian we pointed on the menu to order to make sure we ordered the right thing just coz we knew auntie can’t have anything meat, the staff who took order just miss it not flexible at all and so rude
