It's hard to know where to begin. I saw on social media this place in Balmain that does a Philly Cheese Steak that is next level and over $30 for one sandwich.... I think in this kind of economy it takes big balls to think you can charge that kind of money for a sandwich.... actually in any kind of economy that's a crazy price point for a sandwich.... now having said that if you don't come down here and try it you are doing yourself an injustice. I've had Philly cheese steaks everywhere including Philadelphia and this is not a Philly Cheese Steak this is above next level next level. I could talk about it for an hour and still not really get across how good it was from the little cos lettuce Cup with like a chicken Hazel nut Waldorf through to the most insane soft fluffy crunchy bread but it wouldn't do it justice. Having been in the industry all my life and owning many successful cafes walking into this place you just feel the love in everything they do. Never do you see this kind of attention to chaotic detail anymore and it looks like they just cook whatever they want and sell it on the day and if you don't want to spend $30 on a sandwich or even 18 dollars on a bacon and egg roll I guess you could save a couple of dollars and have something elsewhere that just wouldn't compare but I love the fact that they do what they do they do it well and they only Target the customers that can appreciate such quality and dedication. The only criticism I have would be the bottled barbecue sauce they serve on the side is just completely unneeded and anybody who put barbecue sauce on that sandwich would need help😎 and also the flat white was very fluffy but that's just a little bit of tweaking on technique. Anybody with a struggling Cafe and there are plenty of them these days...needs to come here and see how it's done. I will be back to try the rest of everything. A true place where passion and creativity...

We have been loyal and satisfied customers over the last few years but today the new owner has disappointed us big time. Although the food was good quality, we were literally served very small portions (we were of course charged full price for what seemed like child size portions). She noticed that we must have appeared rather hungry still and she subsequently offered something extra ie extra few spoons of salad, which we politely declined. She then moved on to suggest a sweet slice, which we gratefully accepted. We were absolutely shocked when, upon leaving, she asked us to pay for what was put to us a complimentary dish (by the way she made the recommendation after saying that “we don’t like people to leave here hungry”). Cafes with good food can get busy due to being overwhelmed with customers or due to poor staff planning. We put up with the latter today and waited a long time to enjoy the taste of the food. But we do not believe in supporting/rewarding stingy greedy businesses that forget the principle of hospitality. That’s why we will...

A very atmospheric little cafe, with food that certainly looks beautiful and nice coffee. As someone with coeliac disease, I was disappointed by the lack of gluten free options as I was basically offered a few variations of salad and not much else despite there being so much delicious food that could easily be gf (e.g. roast chicken, soups, any of the sandwiches and toast options if they had gf bread). I opted for a Mexican bowl which had lots of good stuff - avo, Mexican cheese, beans - but had no rice or anything else to balance out the flavours. I felt like I was eating half a meal and though it was very filling it wasn't very enjoyable.

My partner, who can eat gluten, had the hoagie, which he described as "great to look at but ridiculously hard to eat" as it was so overstuffed that you couldn't really have it as a sandwich.

Overall, we would much rather have a meal with balanced flavours and textures rather than just loading on more "yummy" things and assuming that makes the final...
