Wow, these people are rude. I don't usually leave reviews but saw another customer had a similar experience so thought I'd share. I'm a local in the community and have gone to Copo intermittently for years. The woman making coffees asked if we wanted takeaways, then barked 'just wait' when I mistook her question for an invitation to say the order. I said sorry and talked with my friend while we waited, only to realise a minute later, a man was standing behind the register with a raised eyebrow waiting for us. Sorry, I said, for a second time. We placed our orders and drank our takeaway coffees while waiting for the food. When they brought our takeaway box, we took a few bites of the bacon and egg roll before walking down the street, prompting the third staff member to passive-aggressively tell us to sit down if we wanted to eat. Sorry, I said—yet again. There was no-one else around and the cafe was nearly empty. The food was great as always (10/10 for the chefs) but all 3 staff on the floor were unjustifiably rude (0/3). fwiw, I saw one of the waitstaff being saccharine to another customer, so ... I guess my friend and I are just unlikeable people or we broke too many unwritten rules on how customers should behave at Copo...

Unfortunately I had a bad experience in this place a few weeks ago… i don’t know if it’s the same stuff now, or the chef but i hope not and i hope the restaurant it’s good now.

First thing that the food doesn’t taste like really brazilian food… it’s was idk very different…. but was not that bad… So I was eating a piece of meat ( beef picanha) and was very hard, hard to eat and to swallowed. A few minutes pass and i literally I choked on a piece of meat because it was so hard that my friends couldn't chew or eat it anymore. I started to choke and the two men in the kitchen laughed and didn't do anything about it. My boyfriend grabbed me from behind and managed to keep me from being out of breath for too long with a piece of hard meat stuck in my throat. It was a very bad experience for me. I honestly thought I was going to die. After everything, they were moved and tried to help in some way. From the beginning, I saw the waiter's lack of interest. I know we all have bad days, but my friends and I arrived in high spirits and treated everyone well (the restaurant wasn't busy). Even so, we felt really bad. It seemed like we were bothering them more than being customers. Anyway thank you and I hope you’re doing better...

Last week we reluctantly returned to Copa Cafe for breakfast after our previous dine wasn’t the best and thought we’d give them a second chance. We were left disappointed, the food was tasteless, the coffee was to be honest - terrible. When we paid our bill, we each paid for our own portion of the bill which we were thankful for. I used a ‘dine and discover’ voucher and paid the remaining balance on card. My friend then tried to use the same voucher but we were advised it was only one per bill. This was fine so the other two in our group paid with credit card. We later discovered that the second transaction/voucher did work and we had also paid the full amount for this portion on credit card too (double dip). When we called back today to follow up we were berated on the phone and made feel guilty for an error that was not our fault. The staff were aware of the error and refused to refund the transaction onto our credit card which was our payment method and insisted that we would only get cash. I would advise others to ensure they check this doesn’t occur when paying the...

We waited a very long time just to get our coffee and had to call over the lazy waitress to check on it. She had lots of time to set tables but failed to check our meals which took over 40 minutes to arrive (we had to ask her to check our meals too - it’s not our job!). It was busy but not overly busy (no queue). You’d think that the food would at least compensate for the wait but to our dismay, the food was one of the most unsatisfying brunches we’ve had in Sydney! Sadly this place has been on my list to try for years and we decided to finally dine here. Very disappointing. My fritters were full of dough, barely any vegetables in it and was barely warm. My friends smoked trout on toast was less than tasty, sorry but I can make it better at home with produce from Coles/Woolworths. I didn’t even bother tasting the 3rd meal or finishing my own. Waitress didn’t even ask why or care! Never dining here again - double thumbs down for a $90 brunch bill!!!! How sad.

Went to this cafe after a walk around the bay which is located nearby. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Ordered the baked eggs, the smoked salmon with hash and the huevos rancheros. Smoked salmon and hash was cooked well and was a generous portion. I felt like the portion size for the huevos rancheros was a bit small for the price ($19.50) but it tasted nice. The baked eggs were well and truly overcooked on the first attempt (the staff were happy to take it back and replace it for another portion with runny yolks upon request). The cafe itself is a nice space with plenty of room. I would definitely come back again.

Copo Cafe was a good food experience. The food in general is really good, the infusion with south american food is notable in the plates and very tasty. Unfortunately the Brazilian Cheese Bread was really bad, heavy and hard with no cheese flavour, we did order 2 but couldn’t eat (as per photos) and only 1 was removed from our bill even after explaining the situation. But in general it was the only negative point. I hope I can go back in the future and review again.
