Yume sushi — Restaurant in Sydney

I had great time in this little Japanese restaurant for my lunch. We ordered Edamame, pumpkin croquettes, Eggplant with Miso sauce, Fried chicken Udon, and Bento box. Our best pick was the eggplant, Miso didn’t overpower, eggplant was not soggy but it was cooked to perfection and we loved it!!! The Bento box had a ball of rice, fresh salad, fried tofu in sauce, Teriyaki chicken, deep fried vegetables, 3 pieces of Sushi and 5 pieces of sashimi. Honestly sushi and salmon sashimi was ordinary like regular sushi you would get from any supermarket sushi chains, nothing special at all. But other food was great, especially the deep fried vegetables.. crispy and fresh, seems like the vegetables were prepared on each order. The chicken and Udon was good as well, crispy chicken with yummy sauce on top… Udon was good enough and the chicken did it all!

With food being excellent, service was great as well. Food came out fast and efficient, the staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special than Japanese-themed furniture.

I would go back for the eggplant and pumpkin...

My local Japanese place & a pleasant meal, feel like it’s been there potentially 10+ years which shows it’s of high quality & trusted by locals. Can fill up quickly & I don’t think they take bookings but wouldn’t need to.

Space is quite small & seating is tightly managed but they seem to pull it off without any issues. The small stools are not very comfortable so try to nab a table with normal chairs. Internal space is nice enough, perhaps time to give it a refresh though…

Menu feels to me like it’s been pretty much same over time I’ve been in Drummoyne, that’s not a big negative, just thinking possibly they could do some specials or new things to keep it fresh & interesting. However, they churn out very good & reliable dishes in swift time & with no fuss.

Delicious food and amazing service! The people here are so nice and polite. We had a great dinner experience. We had an early dinner for two on a weeknight and ordered the Special Bento Box between two people. It was plenty of food. We had the vegetarian gyoza on the side, which was so beautifully prepared and presented. The filling was so tasty and the skin was perfectly crisp. We had cold sake too.
