Last two times I've been here my meal has been absolutely putrid. Wouldn't recommend unless you want food poisoning. Bar service is sub par, rude and slow. I've been coming to this pub for a long time and it has completely gone down hill. Been here for dinner & drinks twice in the last three months and you wouldn't feed the meal to a dog. The last one I had tasted like it had ingredients in it days old. Gave it some time between the meals too, because I thought maybe they had an off day. Last visit when i said my salad was covered in dressing that tastes off like it was stored in a plastic bottle at room temp all night out the fridge, got told she had tasted it and this is "the way it always is," by the manager while in the same breath she told me the dressing was actually made the day before...so....not actually fresh then at all. Tasted like roasted garbage that dressing. Parma was no better. Not offered a refund for the bad experience and horrible meal, nothing. Offered a free schooner on a meal that legit cost me nearly 30.00. Told em to keep it, and I won't be going back. Avoid 100%. Won't be coming back here ever. RIP Courty. 🙏

Sometimes you just want to go to a pub that still feels like a pub and 'the courty' delivers that feel in abundance, plus more. Divided into four main sections, there's something for everyone and anyone. The beer garden is big and open with big tables, perfect for big groups, the smoking area is actually big enough to fit the number of people you'd expect to be smoking in a pub, the dining area and balcony are warm and cozy in winter and open airy in summer and he bar area is always buzzing. One of the best things about the courty is the menu. It's classic pub meals like nachos, burgers, Parma and wedges and they're all good too. For the full experience, get here early and have an early dinner in the beer garden then head inside and try and get a table near the TVs and watch the Swans beat whoever it is that they're playing. The atmosphere during a game is incredible. The beers are always super cold, the lines are super clean and one of the few places in the inner suburbs you can still get a schooner for 6-bucks-something

Last weekend, my close friends and I decided to switch things up a bit by finding a new spot to hang out, and we ended up choosing the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown. Honestly, I've never felt more spot-on with a decision! The vibe there was just so chill and comfortable, almost like stepping into a whole different world. We settled in and started ordering beers. Oh man, every beer we tried was unexpectedly delicious. I'm not exactly a beer aficionado, but the varieties here made me want to keep exploring.Another big plus was the staff. No matter how busy they got, their warmth and attentiveness never waned. They joined in on our jokes and laughter, adding to the cozy atmosphere. And I can't skip talking about the food - from appetizers to main courses, everything was a hit. The beefsteak, in particular, was tender and flavorful in a way that was simply memorable.

Used to enjoy the courty a couple years ago. I visited again last night for a friend's farewell do, but never will I go back again. At one point, our group was split up as some wanted to sit in the smoking area. This was all fine until the obnoxious manager came to us in the smoking area to say that we were 'blocking a walkway' (when in fact we were all seated at a provided table and had been there for a while). Nonetheless, we complied and moved to another table nearby. Shortly after, same manager came to rudely tell us we must order food. This place is a pub? Multiple other groups were there just to consume drinks, so I fail to see how they can force food? Unless we were intoxicated, which was not the case as I had consumed 3 beers across three-four hours. Not only that, but their menu didn't have options we could eat and we were seated in a smoking area where food is not to be consumed at all by law. The interactions were extremely rude and condescending, but we remained polite. At this stage, two of us decided to rejoin the other half of the party in the beer garden (non-smoking/food consumption area) but a security guard followed us and told us both to leave. When I asked him why I was being targeted, he sheepishly responded with 'I don't know' and stated that he was just told by a colleague to do it. The friend who's farewell it was, wasn't even allowed to say goodbye to the other half of her friends. The experience was so bizarre, with half of us from the smoking area being kicked out. But for what? Not ordering food? No proper explanation was given. There were other patrons not eating and who had been there for several hours. It wasn't busy either so it wasn't as if we were holding a table that could have been given to others who wanted to eat (in the smoking area no less). The way in which management and security were speaking to a compliant/polite group of 30-40 year olds was appalling. Never again will I be going back to the courthouse. It should have already been a red flag after hearing of the mistreatment of staff by management during the peak of covid. Boycott the Courthouse Hotel and boycott...

This is for your security on 2nd of August who parked his bike right outside the venue. I thought you are supposed to hire licensed professionals, not big babies? 😂 There was a spot in front of this diva’s bike, and mind you I drive a 40k car with advanced technology. Been driving it for the last 5 years no issues. I come to a stop obviously when I see how close I am to his bike - and mind you - I can see. Again, driven and parked this b for the last 5 years with no issues. He yells out for me to stop WHILE I AM ALREADY STOPPING. So I wind the window down to tell him I have a camera. Old mate has a little sook and says “I don’t want to talk about it anymore.” I get out of the car and meet my friend at the entrance, and he refuses entry to me from - in his own words, “my venue” because I gave him “attitude” about having a camera on my car. I decide to leave and move my car elsewhere as I don’t want to park next to his bike anymore because who knows what babies do when they throw tantrums. While I go to park elsewhere, my friend tells him that he has an attitude and that he should calm down. Proceeded to tell my friend “you want to see what I’m like when I’m not calm?” Ooohh
How cute. Threats even đŸ„° He then refuses my friend 😂 And he covers up his name badge when my friend tries to ask for his name to escalate. Questionable abuse of power. Hope his life will be as pleasant...

I got a chicken parmi that was clearly forgotten under the grill by the chef (burnt edges, brown cheese, hard and curled). I was talking to my friends so I ate part of the sides and when I saw someone coming (blue haired girl with a radio) I asked if the chicken could be changed for one that wasn’t burned. She was very rude and replied that I should have said something before “almost finishing my meal”. Again, I only ate part of the sides and a bite of the chicken to realize it was inedible. She kept saying that I already ate the dish implying that I wanted a second free meal. I kept explaining that I just wanted a new piece of chicken, I didn’t care about the sides, then she just took it with an attitude and left. She made us all at the table feel really uncomfortable.

When she came back with a whole new, properly cooked dish, I only took the chicken and gave her back the rest. I go out to have fun with my friends, not to be denied a basic service and be treated like I want to take advantage and eat seconds for free.

It’s not my fault if the chef plated up a burnt dish, that the runner didn’t notice or if this waitress/supervisor had a bad day. It’s hospo. It’s basic.

I’ve been plenty of times here, but this may sadly...
