Very conveniently located hotel bar with outdoor seating. Food servings are substantial, so can even share a main between two over drinks. Wide variety of beers on tap and cocktails. Early to mid-week it is possible to have a quiet drink and meal at one of the indoor bar tables, which include some comfy booth/against the wall padded seating combos. It is quite dark inside, but that adds to the bar mood I guess. Toilets are located below ground via stairs, the entrance to which can be found on the border between the bar and the steps down to the hotel dining area. Being five star hotel toilets, they are very clean, new and the vanity basin areas are supplied with nice fluffy paper towels and moisturiser for post-handwashing. During the quieter weekday periods the bar service is quick and professional. In December, when office Christmas groups are out in full swing, bar service can be very, very slow and erratic, so expect a 10-15 minute wait if it is five people deep at the bar. The hotel could perhaps invest in a better system for such periods - such as a ticket system, to avoid the frequent scenario experienced during this time of year of one being rendered invisible while trying to attract the attention of the...

This bar is part of the Marriott hotel, and is a good option if you must eat in the hotel. The access is from the outside of the hotel, basically behind the hotel. The bar features an extensive craft beer selection and typical bar food. We enjoyed trying some of the many beers, while enjoying a tasty cheese burger and chicken sandwich, both accompanied by french fries. The beers were excellent and food was very tasty. In spite of dining at a very busy hour the food was delivered very quickly, and quality didn’t seem to have been compromised. All orders are placed at the bar inside the restaurant. There was a little bit of a line and a short wait, but there are many bartenders so the order process is fast.

The staff is friendly and correct.

The restaurant has some interior seating but extensive outdoor seating capacity. The outside is very pleasant, with no traffic nearby and overlooking a square with some huge, beautiful trees.

We enjoyed our time at the Customs House Bar, and if we want a burger and a beer next time we’re in Sydney, we may very well end up there again.

Staying in the hotel and this was the option. They were trying to make things seem fancier than they are. Drizzled everything in olive oil, which over powers the flavours and all you can taste is the olive oil. They have tempura prawns on the menu, they use a thick batter like fish and chips, definitely not tempura. Also due to the thickness of the batter, the batter wasn’t cooked through. Just disappointing when they are connected to a major hotel. We are travelling with a 2year old so he needs his dinner early and with the mess he makes this place seemed like the best choice. His meals looked amazing especially the fried rice! Should have ordered off his menu! I had a spring green salad and the broccolini had a strange smell. Kind of like the smell of the water when you defrost an iced over freezer. Definitely not edible. They did listen to our criticism and offered to refund/discount, so they do the customer service thing well. Just super disappointed about the food. Seriously if it’s a cost thing, make the portions smaller and use the money and put...

This customs House Bar is connected to Hotel Marriott. Cozy, variant bar environment, and decent tap beers, cocktails, and wines could make patrons’ evening much happier and heightened. Some tap beers I tried - Pale Ale - were pretty fresh, well chilled, and balanced to chill out. Wines and sparking wines were pretty good and soothe a busy day. Unfortunately I was unable to taste a cocktail - Mojito - as basils were run out of 🤣.. but want to come back to try some cocktails for my review. For a hungry stomach making noisy after some binge drinks, a double cheese burger was a right dish. Also combination with a bucket of onion rings(it seems to be factory made and just fried) and oven grilled Nacho with cheese, beef mince, Guacamole, and Sour Cream, was the best choice. Already missed to go back… Definitely recommended!

Very good pub food in the city. We just walked past and decided to stop here for lunch; the patio was quite busy being Anzac day so we decided to have lunch inside whice was quiet and cozy. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari and Fish and chips, both were super crispy outside and very very tender inside and well flavored. My husband had the pita with 3 dips and the cheeseburger with chips and was very happy with both. Unfortunately they didn't have any cider so I had a glass of rose` and my husband had a beer. All in all we were very happy and impressed by the food, definitely beyond our expectations for pub food.
