I can only describe tonight's dinner as impressive as a primary school junior band performance, with the inclusion of kindergarten clarinets.
I ordered the "seafood laksa", and the only literal relevance it had to what I ordered was that some of the ingredients had previously seen food, granted not in this particular restaurant, but probably on their way to this hell kitchen during their distribution phase. The closest thing i could compare it to was the instant 2 minute noodle tom yum soup you buy from the petrol station, except without the flavour. Possibly they got coconut cream mixed up for coconut water, and coconut water mixed up for water.
My friend ordered the "special fried rice". In hindsight, it was special in the sense that special needs children need special schools. It was mysteriously dry and oily at the same time, an incredible feat really. Another special surprise was how they managed to remove all flavour from every single ingredient, and had an entire dish which could be likened to wok fried...
Read moreThis place is mediocre at best. Had a serve of dim sims and prawn dumplings to start and mains chicken and cashews and a pork and wonton soup. The prawn dumplings were neither prawn nor dumpling. They were bland and the rice dumpling was more like leather that soft translucent sticky rice noodle. And served in a sea of soy. The dim sims were factory made, uniform in their blandness. The standout was the soup which they managed to ruin by adding handfuls of bean sprouts and sum choy. The other let down was the pork which was dry. The stock and wontons were quite good. They hadn't bother to velvet the chicken in the chicken and cashews which made the dish pretty ordinary. And to top it all off, the staff must have been trying out for the Olympic noise making team because they were at the front, we were at the rear and the noise they were making was excruciating. Won't be...
Read moreI am an incapacitated person and rode my electric scooter today to Deli Noodles Crows Nest and parked the vehicle on the footpath near the kerb, entered with my walking stick andI enjoyed a delicious meal of sweet and sour pork with rice….truly an excellent meal. Upon leaving the restaurant and returning to my scooter, the vehicle had been caught in a downpour. I was in the process of trying to sweep water from the seat and instrument panel with my hand when a lady from the restaurant who had taken my order came to my rescue with toweling etc. and thoroughly dried the seat and instrument panel. I was so apprehensive of this lady’s kind actions and thought I would let others know that kindness still exists in our society. I have eaten at this Chinese restaurant before and the meals are superb and prices very reasonable and I was so thankful for the assistance given...
