After reading about Diggy Dooâs on broadsheet, I decided to give them a try. They are hidden in region food arcade, which can be accessed via Bridge St side as well as Dalley St.
The food arcade is one of Sydneyâs favourite lunchtime destinations as people are already queuing outside the takeaway shots by 11:30am. While everyone only offers takeaway, at Diggy they offer takeaway food & coffee as well as sit down for brew tasting (paid obviously). Personally, I havenât tasted the brew coffee, but I have heard good things about it them. The coffee beans are roasted in house offering specialty coffee, black espresso, milk coffees, brewed coffee. They also sell pastries and daily lunch specials.
My first impression at Diggyâs: I loved the friendly staff members and the latte I ordered tasted really good, but the price per coffee was quite expensive compared to other cafes in the area (latte @ $5.20 large). My second visit to Diggy was on a Thursday morning, barely any customers just me and my colleague ordering coffee. Soy latte was charged $7.50 for large and normal latte $6.50. Between the first and second visit In less than 2 weeks, the price of a large latte increased $1.30 from $5.20.
Overall, Diggyâs is a great coffee spot to try but wouldnât be your regular coffee hotspot. Based on price alone, there are other coffee options around Diggyâs that offer more affordable and great tasting coffee for a...
Read moreGreat place to come and enjoy the ambience of an atmosphere that screams joy of coffee from hand-painted graphics and posters of trivial to the playful nature of the staff, every detail in the stop is an invitation to amazing coffee.
That being said, this review is coming from a person that does not drink coffee and I was initially terrified of the menu and jargon when I first walked in.
After sitting at the bar, I ordered filter coffee and I felt extremely welcomed and understood as a customer and a person. Paul and the staff were extremely friendly and explained the coffee in a way that breaks it down for anyone to understand. It reminded me of the professor Brian Cox - a physicist who explains astronomy and cosmology in the most easy way to grasp. The complex world of coffee never felt more easier to understand with how patient and caring the people here are.
I ordered two different filter coffees. Recommended by a friend, I had the Panama Geisha and another one I still do not even know how to read the label for.
Overall, a great place for beginners and enthusiasts. A must visit for...
Read moreThis was probably the best coffee spots in Sydney I've had recently.
A real hole in the wall store, It was hard to find at first being in the basement of the building, but just ask around and follow the crowd and they'll all lead you there.
I ordered filter coffee and I could taste such a fragrant coffee. Paul and the staff were extremely friendly and explained the coffee kindly.
I ordered two different coffees. The first coffee I ordered was a cherry-flavored coffee. The second coffee was a coffee from their pop up that day, it was from colour coffee in Kumamoto Japan. The Rwandan coffee had a that lingered until the end. It was my first time seeing a coffee shop and they had a variety of coffee beans and various pop up events
I want to try a new coffee next time. I arrived late but I was able to enjoy it enough.
I also tried Yuki bagels, a bagel pop up that was there every Wednesday and Sunday. The beef Curry onigiri bagel was to die for! Love how there are so many collabs and events in this one spot! A must visit for...
