Ceviche or something else caused my boyfriend diahrrea. Rude and unprofessional staff.
I booked a table the 31st of December for lunch because of my boyfriend's birthday. The seating was on the balcony which was nice. Our waiter came and we ordered ceviche, grilled corn, and a mushroom and a crab taco platter. I am vegan and asked if it was possible for my dish to be vegan and the waiter said yes. Some of the options on your menu cater to vegans and I checked online beforehand so I thought it should be alright. When the corn came in, I ate it and around 5 minutes in, my stomach started hurting really bad, I took some medicine I had on my backpack and everything was ok. I just shrugged it to being an accident and not a big deal, as luckily I dont have any life threatening allergies to food. Then my mushroom platter came in and there was cheese in my plate and the salad was covered in dressing. I ate some of the guacamole on the middle before I realised that maybe this is not vegan cheese so I asked the staff. They said my order was not vegan, but because I had already started eating ( I only ate a small portion of guacamole) they couldn't remake my dish again. Ridiculous. If I ate like a quarter of it I would understand, but I barely started give me some slack. They told me they can't do anything. Also before I ordered the platter everything was ok, but after it came in the girl told me "you just ordered something for 4 people... this is meant to be shared" then why didn't you tell me earlier?? Or just don't say nothing at all because I ordered the food already and I need to pay for it already?? Anyway, because they couldn't remake my dish they just brought me stale lettuce and stale plain ass cabbage. Not even salt or lemon? At least a little bit of effort to make it less boring? The service was just bad and rude. Orders are wrong etc, just like the other reviews. But that's not the worst part, I thought it was over but no. I don't know what it was, but it was either the ceviche that was not fresh, or the crab, but it gave my boyfriend diarrhea. Mind you, he is Japanese so he's used to eating Sashimi and raw eggs, so I don't think it was the raw aspect of the ceviche, maybe it was just not fresh anymore. I don't know, but it ruined his birthday. We couldn't go surfing, and we also couldn't see the New Year's fireworks due to his bowel movements caused by something in one of your dishes. His stomach-ache started around 10 minutes after we finished our lunch. Also, he said the crab was really nice, but I personally think the flavours of the platter were kind of boring for the price. You're giving stale lettuce and stale cabbage with spicy mayo dressing for $50? Damn. Ingredients don't need to be expensive so a plate can taste good. It just takes creativity, finding good herbs and mix good flavours together. It's loterally what youre supposed to do!! Maybe not just straight shredded cheese on a plate what a crazy concept aye. I was expecting way more better quality for the crazy $140!!!!! I paid. This is a very casual restaurant, it's kinda old and it shows. specially in the bathrooms. Not fancy AT ALL as the website pictures show, it is VERY deceiving. I was expecting a little bit of fine dining but I got greeted with plastic taco holders. I'm disappointed, sad and frustrated. I will not be coming back. You should invest on your staff too and train them how to take customers. One of the waitresses stood behind my boyfriend and started shouting from the restaurant balcony right behind us!!! to a friend of hers that was crossing the street!!! She stood there for like 3 minutes waiting for a wave back before going behind another customer's chair and...
Read moreI came in here very excited by the nice ambience and amazing view of Bondi thinking I had found a gem. I was with my friend and we entered at around 12:15pm (we did not have a booking). They did not seat us for 10 minutes and at a wobbly table right under a blaring speaker, even though they had other tables that weren't booked. Additionally, they took 20 minutes to take our order, so it wasn't taken until 12:40. A waiter even came and asked us if we wanted the bill because they thought that we had ordered and eaten but our order wasn't even taken yet. It was moderately busy but nothing too crazy. Then our order was finally taken and we proceeded to wait around 50 minutes for our food. It was so hard to get the waiters attention because they kept speeding past and would not check on any tables. When we could finally ask about where our food was, the waiter realised that he hadn't even put our order through yet. We then waited for another 15 minutes and our food finally came but my friends drink still hadn't come. At this point we had finished our meal and my friend still hadn't gotten her drink so she told a waiter that if the kitchen had not started making it then they did not need to worry about it but the waiter said the drink was on its way. Then he offered me a free drink which was nice but we assumed my friends drink would be free too considering her wait. We got the drinks about 5 minutes later and when we were finished and ready to pay, we asked why my friend was being charged for her drink which was weird (why would they give me a free drink if my friend was the one who had to wait). They also would not let us split the bill and they did not want us to pay by cash because they did not have enough change. We ended up being able to split the bill, but the waiter was very reluctant.
The waiter also insisted that my friend left a tip and a 5 star review on google, and when she declined leaving a tip his reply was "WHAT, but I gave you a free drink!"
Overall pretty bad experience...

unprofessional long wait time poor quality food overpriced (even with eatclub)
Ordered chicken wings and jalapino poppers online with eatclub.
When I arrived there was a 'please wait here sign'. Staff repeatedly ignored me. After waiting some more, I eventually had to go to them. Staff clearly had never received an order before. When I came in to collect my order, I was met with confusion and unprofessionalism. They hadn't even started making it. They were confused, and had to constantly check with the manager after I told them who the order was from. One of the waitresses had to take my phone to show the manager my order.
Manager also appeared to not care, and was seen dismissing the waitress when they came back in to ask something about my order which was apparently so confusing. Meanwhile, I was made to wait outside while they had my phone.
I then asked to cancel the order if they hadn't started making it. The waitress refused to, and said 'it would be quick'. It was not.
The manager then said they 'hadn't set up online orders, and were checking the wrong screen'.
Well if that's the case don't advertise that this is an option. You clearly aren't prepared. You also should not force a customer to order something if they do not want to. The restaurant wasn't even aware of my order, and hadn't started making it, so it makes no sense to force the customer to buy something.
When the food was finally ready, both dishes were dry and did not seem fresh at all. Especially the chicken.
The only thing this restaurant has going for it as that there's a view of the beach. You don't run a restaurant by assuming the location will solve all your problems and your...
