Donut King Kellyville K1 — Restaurant in Sydney

We’ve been going to this DK for years and the service has generally been good and the donuts great too. I was really disappointed and upset with the service today though. I went in this morning to talk to someone about a disparity in what they charged me yesterday. I went in yesterday with a friend and our two young daughters - we made one transaction (2 donuts and a small hot choc) which cost $10.45; then after a minute or so, we went back up and made a second transaction (one iced donut) which cost $9.60….. My fault in this instance that I should have checked what I was tapping my card on, but only noticed when I was checking my netbank that night. So, I think what happened was the lady that served me yesterday undercharged the first transaction. When we made the second transaction (not that she knew we’d come back for another donut) she overcharged (I don’t know if it was intentional because she realised she undercharged the first time and tried to compensate, but even then, she still overcharged us.. She could have also just told me and I’m happy to pay the difference). Anyway, the lady I was talking to today (she had glasses, and I think her hair tired back) spoke to me an abrupt and irritated way. No apology for the inconvenience to me or that I was overcharged (even though it was only 85cents). To be honest, I wouldn’t care as much about the 85cents, mistakes happen and I just wanted to clarify what was going on (and I even said to her that I’m happy to pay now if it was the case that I was undercharged in total). It made me feel like I was causing so much problems for the sake of 85 cents (but again, I didn’t know it was just for 85cents… and even then, if told them I wanted to pay 85cents less for a donut, I’m sure that this wouldn’t be ok. For me, before I spoke to this lady, I was just intending to buy a coffee and a donut or something with whatever the difference was that they overcharged me - but I just couldn’t do that after the way she treated me). At the end, the lady, huffing, just grabbed some old coins they had in a drawer and gave this to me and she walked away huffing. I was really lost for words and out of habit, I even said thank you to her as she was walking away. (On a side note, I waited until she was finished with the one customer she was serving and then approached her. The whole time we spoke, you had an additional two customers come up which another staff was looking after. I’m sure there are other things that needs to be done in the background too and not just customer service, but the way you were carrying yourself was like you had a queue of 15 customers).

I won’t be going back. It’s upsetting to make this decision as my daughter and I (along with other friends and family) have had fond memories around this DK. We even got my daughter’s birthday donut cake from you guys in February (even though it would have been more convenient for us to order from the RHTC DK, we went with you in Kellyville as there’s a feeling of loyalty to...

Excellent doughnuts, but making people feel uncomfortable because they have other food and then saying, "It's all too hard", "it's the centre's fault", and "All I do is clean up", is not good for business. I have bought doughnuts there almost every time I went to Coles every few weeks, but the owner made my daughter and I feel unwelcome, so those doughnuts and milkshakes we bought will be the last. You're not just selling doughnuts, it's a little experience of happiness in someone's day, but when it's sprinkled with anger and conflict, the taste is too...

It's a shame that neither of the last two Donut King promotions which were emailed out to loyal Donut King Customers were not available at Donut King Kellyville. I emailed Donut King Customer Service to ask why? The reply via email was next time we recommend calling ahead to enquire about availability. How about honouring your promotions or stop emailing your Customers with offers that are not available, but maybe some people love...
