I recently visited Elkhayal Restaurant and had such an amazing experience that I felt compelled to share it. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming vibe and aroma of freshly cooked Lebanese food set the tone for a perfect meal.

We started with their Foul – a classic dish made with fava beans and chickpeas, seasoned beautifully with garlic, lemon, and olive oil. It was smooth, comforting, and served with warm, fluffy bread. Then came the Falafel, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor – easily some of the best falafel I’ve had in Sydney.

The Middle Eastern Breakfast Platter was a real highlight – a generous spread that included sujuk, cheese, and freshly baked oregano bread. It’s the kind of breakfast that keeps you full and satisfied for hours.

For mains, the Mixed Plate blew us away. It came with a bit of everything – tender shish kebab, flavorful kafta, juicy shish tawook, crispy kibbeh, falafel, and a selection of dips like hummus and baba ghannouj, along with salad and hot chips. The portion was more than enough for two people, and everything tasted fresh and homemade.

We also tried the Chicken Kabseh, a beautifully spiced rice dish with chicken, nuts, and a refreshing side salad. It was aromatic, balanced, and incredibly satisfying.

Service was friendly, fast, and very hospitable — you can really tell this is a family-run place that takes pride in what they serve. The menu is full of traditional favorites, and everything we ordered was consistent in quality and taste.

If you’re looking for authentic Lebanese food, Elkhayal is a must-visit. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner — and great for families too. I’ll definitely be...

Falafel fantastically crunchy and light texture inside, a masterful falafel. Kibbeh also with a good crunch texture, also a must have. Shish lamb is good too, not overcooked like many other places. Hummus, babah ganoush, toum all decent. The only thing I'd ask to improve is the pickles - the chilli's had a punch of bitterness, as long as you don't care about the pickled chilli then everything is good. Menu is short-ish, see uploaded menu pics. Staff are friendly but English isn't the greatest, be a bit patient. Cash only, so don't forget to stop by the atm first if needed. Over all, the falafel and kibbeh rank up there amongst the...

Finally got to go to our fav Lebanese Restuarant in Sydney. Waiting through Lockdown to enjoy this wonderful venue for the best Lebanese food was torture. We called in last night and the food was perfect, very fresh and piping hot felafel, kebabs and our favourite, the hummus topped with spiced mince and pine nuts. The meals were flavourful and plenty of fresh salads with garlic sauce. We enjoyed the meal so much. This is the best restuarant in Sydney and forget the others. They are generous with their serves and importantly they make you feel welcome. Thank you to all the chefs and staff for continued high quality food. Cheers...

The hummus, a standout dish, was exceptionally creamy and flavorful, with the perfect balance of tahini, lemon, and garlic. The chicken biryani was another highlight, featuring tender, well-seasoned chicken pieces mixed with aromatic, perfectly cooked rice. While the restaurant excelled in these two dishes, there is still some room for improvement in other areas such as the waiting time was 25mins for me and I was starving. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this Lebanese restaurant for those craving a delicious hummus and chicken biryani experience.
