Eliette — Restaurant in Sydney

NOT BABY/KID FRIENDLY - Been coming here for years, unfortunately will not be returning due to an unprofessional experience with the manager. Appalling customer service once questioned he yelled at me across the cafe, was very condescending, attacked my character & told me I was making it personal. Then implied I wasn’t going to clean up after my child, saying that I was putting words in his mouth “I’m dirty”. This continued on two occasions where he was defensive stating he had been in the industry for years and does not take on feedback/criticism and for me not to tell him how to do his job. He dismissed anything that I had to say, belittled me & spoke over me the entire time. His demeanour & overall lack of professionalism should be addressed if he is to continue in such a customer facing role. We will not be returning, with a significant instagram following - I will be expressing my experience to my followers.

Responding back to the comment- Further information has been provided in the next review, no need to decipher this. From previous reviews your responses are very defensive & are not addressing the appalling actions of your manager. I did not have an issue with the salt and pepper shakers being taken, it was the lack of communication why they were & the way I was spoken to once I questioned this. My family and I love love love this cafe, we became regulars many years ago when White Horse first opened in Sutherland and since then we visit all the cafe's owned by Dom and Matt, we are big coffee lovers and love their food but more importantly we love the people who work at these cafe's, everyone takes the time to have a chat, they remember your favourite orders, know your name and to be quite honest they feel like family, Big love to Alex, Ben, Ozzie and the crew at Flora Street Espresso, , big love to Cory, Chloe , Caity and the crew at Eliette's, and Adam , Fred and the crew at The Brick Pitt, you all go over and above to make our visits special, to my family you are family, fantastic Cafe's , hats off to Dom and Matt.. I recently visited Eliette Cafe and, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The staff were not very friendly, which was disappointing. The coffee was good but, the prices were a bit on the higher side for what was offered.

During my visit, I was in a group of five extra customers, and it seemed unreasonable for the staff to be unhappy about this. More customers should be seen as a positive sign of business growth, and I believe the staff should have been more accommodating and welcoming.

I also do not understand why takeaway cups are used for dine in. This is ordinary and wasteful.

Overall, my visit to Eliette Cafe did not leave a good impression, and it has affected my view of Sutherland as well. I hope the cafe can take this feedback constructively and work on improving their customer service...
