Siam Thai Sutherland — Restaurant in Sydney

I have been a regular customer and I come here weekly to get takeaway food for my family. Today when I went there to eat in with my kids, the man with the glasses got upset because I grabbed some plates off the other table and verbally abused me, yelling at me in front of my kids. He criticised my mothering because they touched the plates and made me feel awful. The kids and I both left feeling frightened and unsafe. I will NEVER ever step foot or order from this shop again. It was extremely unnecessary and created a traumatic experience for all of us. Just be careful when you go there, especially if you are a woman on your own or a mother with kids.

Thank you to the owner for taking this incident seriously. My son is now very scared to drive or walk past this shop, and I understand it will take time for him to heal from this experience. During the incident, my son ran out of the shop to the car. I now realize I should have left without the food with my children, but I stayed because I felt bad for the staff members preparing it. During this time, he continued to say that my children could set the table for me, as he wouldn’t do it himself. I did not raise my voice or speak rudely at any point. I was almost in tears while waiting and left the shop in tears. My children and I never expected to be treated this way when we came to sit down and eat, and we have never experienced anything like this anywhere before. No one deserves to be spoken to in such a demeaning way. Kindness is a very basic expectation. I wish for that man more peace and compassion...

Used to be good, we loved going there and getting takeaway but the last couple of times have been awful! Not only that if you order on menulog every dish as an increase of price. If I call up and order it's about $15 cheaper. Only thing every time I call up they can't hear me or I'm repeating myself constantly. On top of that I had a delivery ordered for 9:20, they came at 8:15 and still asked if they could bring the food up. I told them I wasn't home and they didn't even apologise until I said I'm at work, I planned it so I didn't have to cook. Then they said sorry and hung up. I had to call up to make sure that I was still getting the delivery at 9:20 which I had paid for. When the food caught here one of the dishes had three pieces of chicken in it, and fifty pieces of mushrooms. My laksa had barely any vegetables even though it was a vegetable laksa. Pretty sure the restaurant did this on purpose, because...

The Shire has many hidden secrets but Siam Thai should be recommended on the list. Has been around since 2009.

We had Spicy Chicken Pad Thai, Satay Chicken with Coconut Rice and Grilled Calamari. In addition, money bags for appetisers.

We arrived late around 8:40pm when closing time was 9:00pm. Greeted with a smile and happy to take our orders and promptly arrived with no fuss. I was pleasantly surprised that the staff, eventhough they were probably counting down to closing time but was very professional and happy to provide a wonderful service.

The food was ready in a just 5 - 10 minutes. Great flavours and the dishes definitively catered for all taste palettes.
