Despite its name they offer a lot more than just pork rolls! Noodle soups, rice paper rolls, smoothies and even burgers! Not just pork rolls either but bbq pork and 5 spices chicken
I found this place very interesting, quite busy at lunch,no other Asian customers, the lady at the counter yelling randomly "anyone want soup!" Trying to drum up business I think or randomly sell extra to others
Another lady served me and I swear I heard her say $5.50 (though the board said $5) for a pork roll and I got a pork spring roll also
I asked her about it and she replied $5 for the pork roll and $1.50 for the pork spring roll and the prizes are correct but the way she replied back was if I killed someone lol
The spring roll was nice, puffy on the outside a nice change
Pork roll, recently eating at Cabramatta pork roll for half the price (it was as just ok) I found this slightly better, the roll is thin and the one difference I saw is they added sum Chinese pork,a nice change but the flavours weren't there. I didn't enjoy it as much as I should
$5 pork rolls are expensive for me but everything else looked...
Read moreI had lunch here with a craving for Vietnamese food after a swim.
This place is a mix between a Pork Roll shop and a Vietnamese restaurant. And there lies problem because you can’t do both well.
I had the combination noodle salad for $16.50.
What did I like? The crackling pork was crunchy and juicy large portions
What could be improved? They didn’t make my meal fresh. They simply reheated the noodles in the microwave and added the meat which was pre-cooked on display. Maybe they could put the microwave away from sight so it wasn’t obvious.
The ambience. It felt run down inside. You can hear all the noise from Enmore Road. The lights inside were very bright and it felt like a cold hospital that lacked personality. I would consider getting new menus, changing the light and adding in some Vietnamese paintings.
The Vietnamese meatloaf in my salad was very dry and felt like it had been out for awhile. The fish sauce dressing was very sweet.
If you are craving Vietnamese, food I would consider going across the road to The Alley.
I didn’t try the pork roll so I can’t...
Read morestandard banh mi, nothing to shout from the rooftops for. arrived at 4pm, they were supposed to shut at 5pm but they were already basically cleaned up. only option of crackling pork or chicken, went pork. roll was alright, it was a slice of a longer baguette which i didnt like as i prefer the crunchy ends of an individual roll. nice texture combo from the pork, but fell apart quite easily and lacked pate. pickles could have been abit more punchy. really liked their chilli adddition, as it was more of a chilli paste/oil so was more spread out throughout the sandwich rather than just punchy raw chili clumps throughout as per most shops. would go 3.5 if i could give half stars. will be back at prime time as a 4.8 avr. review means that this place has gotta be...
