Everyday Canteen - An incomplete story. A tentative review to what seems to be a promising cafe. It appears that they are currently managing a limited menu, so to complete a taste of this little cafe, I will return! — Highlights: It’s been awhile since I enjoyed a peaceful vibe within a cafe. With tables distance apart and a relaxing ambiance, it is like a perfect fit for a local cafe. Review: At this stage, it appears that they are only offering a small menu that includes pastries and limited dine-in meals. From memory these are either a Mushroom or Chicken Toastie - due to this, I will return to try this at a later but much anticipated time. Latte - $3.50 Preference. The beans used are from The Little Marionette, which has an initial smooth chocolate-y pass and finished with a strong citrus/sour note. I am not a fan of the finish so can’t say that I enjoyed the beans, that being said, I can’t fault the barista as she did a great job in the texture and temp of the milk that blended well with the beans! Not be to forgotten, finished of with a Barista seal of approval - Latte Art. — Will return! - TESTEDbypanda

Have loved visiting this cafe a few times in the past - it’s located in the quiet nook under the Artarmon station. You’ll find much smaller menu with only 2 sandwich options at the moment as they operate with limited food menu (perhaps due to current COVID situation). But their drinks menu is still the usual - with tumeric latte, taro latte, etc. We ordered decaf mocha and our favourite Taro Milkshake, which has a great balance of sweetness and coconutty flavour. Sandwich was ok. Service is friendly :) hoping the usual menu to come back soon and rooting for this cafe!

Stopped in here a morning coffee and treat. Ordered a couple of coffees and one of the gingerbread cookies. Cookie was delicious, tasty, buttery and sweet with a good kick of ginger. We had waited over 15min for coffees so had to ask where they were. The ticket had been missed but was disappointing that staff made out that they were just “on the way”. Would prefer honesty and a simple apology as understand mistakes can be made. Coffee was above average so that is a good sign. Food coming out looked good but not sure I would revisit as not a great experience overall.

The cafe is clean and the coffee is consistently astounding. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate your every need. Angela is amazing, the first time we went to everyday canteen we had the eggs benedict which was served on brioche. We suggested to her that the chef should possibly use sour dough or english muffin. A few months later we went back, (did I mention the coffee is astounding?) and we had the eggs benedict again, Angela remembered us and asked if we wanted it on sour dough instead, nice touch. The menu offers a good variety of fresh western and Asian dishes including some vegan choices as well! You won't be disappointed and I urge you to...

I've been coming for coffee since moving to the neighborhood. The weekend staff is great and efficient with the coffee orders and service. Decided to come on a Monday morning (today). The weekday staff, first told me they don't stampo the card for my type of order.. "but would this time". First time ordering food and it took 30 minutes for a french toast. Everyone else had their food served first despite arriving nearly 10 minutes after I ordered. All the counter staff lady would say is "sorry". It's easy to talk, but nothing to rectify the situation. Never ever come to this overpriced poor service...
