We decided at the last minute to dine at Ezzelino's. We had been wanting to go for a while, but live a fair distance away. We were expecting to order a takeaway pizza, but, we were lucky enough to get a table....on a Saturday night! We were warmly greeted at the door by Christine. She was friendly, bubbly and so accommodating. The other staff members were quick to bring over water, glasses and menus. We were given time to decide on what we wanted to order. I ordered the garlic bread and we kept trying to decide what mains to order...so many yummy choices!!! We finally decided on pizzas. The man making the pizzas, Christian was very focused on getting all his orders cooked well and at a prompt speed...he clearly takes pride in his service. Throughout the night, the staff, including Christine were checking on all customers to make sure everyone was happy and looked after. There was a young lady who was in training and she was certainly interested in the best customer service possible. I later found out that Christine and Christian are the owners. They clearly care about the restaurant, customers and staff. Though we are further away, we cannot wait to get back there again...to make difficult choices of what delicious...
Read moreThis was our first time to dine here , simply because of google good reviews. Unfortunately we did not share the same experience. Food was average , soup ok , calamari not fresh and on the expensive side . Seafood spaghetti had lots of small mussels, few small shrimps , one medium size prawn. Quite cheap ingredients. Steak was tender but absolutely no beef taste . Probably due to heavy marinating and not good quality steak . I was asked about how was the dinner upon paying . As a matter of courtesy, I just said fine but a good waiter would have noticed half of the steak was left behind on the plate. The worst was the bill turned out to be two dollars more , poor calculation? Intentional ? Lucky we requested the receipt but only realized it after leaving. Did not bother to go back and ask for the extra charged money back . Would not go back again. Advise all to check the bill upon leaving.
I am amazed with the so called a good restaurant would reply like this to an unsatisfied customer ( see his reply to me before ). Hence , I am now including the receipt which says it all . I did not do this initially simply because of courtesy . Nevertheless I still wish Happy New Year...
Read moreEzzelinos is a quiet, family-run Italian restaurant with a warm, rustic feel. The atmosphere has that old-school charm — warm lighting, traditional décor, and furniture that leans a little on the dated side, but somehow it works. It’s a shame the place isn’t busier, because it deserves more foot traffic.
Service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and well-paced without being over the top.
We started with garlic bread and four-cheese arancini. While the entrees were decent, the mains were the highlight. I had the veal schnitzel with potatoes and seasonal vegetables, and my partner had the spaghetti Bolognese. The Bolognese was the standout dish of the night — rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The schnitzel was also well-cooked and satisfying. Portion sizes were just right — filling without being overwhelming.
One detail that really stood out was that the new owners have taken over from their family and are continuing the tradition, which gives the place a nice personal touch. Even the music suited the vibe — relaxed and classic Italian, matching the homestyle food.
If you’re after a traditional Italian meal in a quiet, no-fuss setting, Ezzelinos is...
