We ate here yesterday evening with the three of us. Must say that the wine and food tasted good and the ambiance was ok. But the issue that I raised with the waitress was that the amount of food on our plates was absolutely far beyond what you might expect for the price. The risotto was a too little plate, the plate with the roasted duck contained only some slices of duck and a little sauce. Nothing else on that plate - and that for some 40 and 60 Aud. The waitress said she would pass on the complaints, but nothing happened. No reaction at all - not from the waitress and not from the owner. It was simply neglected as if we hadn’t said anything. When paying I reminded the complaint to another waitress. At that time the owner was nearby and he could not disregard it. He defended himself by explaining how expensive the meat is nowadays and that the cook decided was will be on the plates - making himself look like someone that doesn’t own the restaurant but only acts as if. I explained again that just adding some additional food on the plate - like potatoes and vegetables and some extra risotto - would have made the plate more in line with the price and thus our expectations. The same goes for the risotto. The owner kept on defending himself, told me that of course I may have a different opinion and that he will take it into account. There was not any sign of a suggestion to compensate our complaints. And the body language and the reactions of the owner - in some earlier reviews I read “arrogance” but I would call it “stubborn blindness for the wellbeing of clients” - gave me the impression that it will not change at all in this restaurant. Could not praise it well enough. Everything there seems to have been thought after incredibly well, and when I say everything I mean everything.
The setting is in a nice area of Neutral Bay, the place inside is spacious, with lots of tables located here and there in different corners so that you can choose if you want to seat at the bar, if you want a quiet table, if you want one on a cushioned banquette, one by the big window or one outside. They all give you that nice warm feeling of those places where you find yourself so comfortable that you know already you want to come back just as you sit.
The attention to detail pleasantly extends to the food and drinks selection as well.
I am a picky drinker and my girlfriend a picky eater but there we found dishes and drinks that are sure to satisfy all palates.
Looking for sweet? They have you covered. Looking for bitter? They have it. Are you a meat lover?! Try their dry cured meats with the incredible “crescentine”. Are you vegetarian? Pescatarian?(my girlfriend) They have “that stuff” too! :-)
Everything there will give you the feeling of being in a upscale environment without having to spend a million dollars for it. Unpretentious yet refined and classy.

Read moreFood may be great, I won’t bother trying now - Very disappointed with the customer service- I had booked online, never received a confirmation email, yet placed my CC as a hold as normal these days and took a screenshot, due to unfortunate circumstances I needed to cancel, so to do the right thing I phoned immediately to cancel in person to ensure they were aware, I was told to cancel via my email confirmation - I explained I hadn’t received this, they said they would resend - it never arrived so about an hour later I emailed them again to apologise and cancel, no response. At 6pm an email finally comes through so I do as told - cancel on the email. 2 minutes later my credit card was charged $120. I phoned to question why when I called earlier and spoke to them the charge was never mentioned - the response I got was “it’s in the terms and conditions” which I understand- however a heads up when speaking in person would have gone a long way, and I would have understood but instead I received a condescending, rude and dismissive tone when I called to query my money being taken, I understand I cancelled within the 24 hour period - but this kind of attitude and response is ridiculous.
