This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. Here’s why: Language Barrier: Despite being located in Australia, the staff primarily communicate in Chinese, not English. When I tried to speak in English, they either ignored me or responded in Chinese. For a business operating in an English-speaking country, this is unacceptable and made communication extremely difficult. Unprofessional and Rude Service: I received a completely different dish from what I ordered. When I asked the staff about it, they casually said the item I ordered was out of stock and they just gave me something else without informing me. Seriously? If something is unavailable, the customer should be notified not just served something random. When we complained, there was no apology. Instead, the staff simply asked, “So you don’t want to eat it?” in a very dismissive tone. Lack of Basic Hospitality: During the meal, the staff were loudly chatting and shouting in Chinese among themselves, making the atmosphere extremely unpleasant. It was so distracting that I ended up leaving most of the food untouched.
This place lacks not only good service but also basic respect for customers. I won’t be coming back, and I strongly advise others to...
Read moreThis eatery is part of a chain outlet. Still a decent place to have a meal with a specialisation in chinese style roast meats. Some key points about this place: There is a separate queue for takeaway and for dining in. If there are no seats available, they have a ticketing system to wait for an available table. Roast duck generally is good. However, this recent one, the duck skin was not as crispy as other times. Not sure if it was because it was a public holiday and the usual roast chef was not around. The chilli oil as a condiment is pretty decent. Order is by QR code though there is a slight discrepancy. E.g. in Chinese for the order site, one can choose the different cuts of bbq pork but when it was in English, such a choice was not available. The staff sometimes forget to bring along the plum sauce that is the condiment for the roast duck. The plum sauce goes well with their roast duck. They will get it when reminded. For the afternoon tea set meal, hot drinks are included in the price but there is an additional charge when it is a cold drink There is a surcharge on public holidays. They accept both cash and card for payments. Payment is collected once the order is placed and before food...
Read moreRevisited on the 19/08 and several times before. Definitely has got more crowd than before but I feel the overall quality dropped quite a bit also.
Start with the food, it’s too oily and not flavoursome. I couldn’t finish it even though I don’t like to waste food. That happen to a few of the dishes we ordered too.
The customer services - first the older lady got one of our orders mixed up and didn’t show any attitude to change it. She just said that’s what’s shown on the receipt which she put on. Then minutes after we’re finished with the food (haven’t even finished my drinks yet), she requests us to leave before she needs to table for peak lunch hour. I appreciate that fast turnover is crucial but requesting that before customer is finished is a bit poor customer services. Nor she said any thank you for leaving early for her. Guess she just loss a few more returning customers from this.
Past: Under the new ownership/management, the place is fully renovated with more dishes and lunch special to choose from.
I like the nostalgic design of the old Hong Kong/China.
Their new bbq roast line is not bad but I’ve tried better one elsewhere (Chatswood and Eastwood etc).
Not cheap for...
