I've only given 3 stars as the food was definitely better than the experience. To start...the place was FILTHY!! I mean dirty...Food and rubbish all over the tables and floors.. couldn't find a table so had to clean one off as was covered in food and dishes. They only had 2 people on.. it was a Sunday.. first weekend of the school holidays.. and it was lunch time. They were absolutely run off their feet. So rushed off their feet.. the young lady accidentally smashed a wine glass on the floor where patrons sit. Spraying glass everywhere, including in our direction. What made that worse.. it stayed there.. smashed glass everywhere for another at least half hour before it was partially cleared. THEN the guy behind the bar proceeded to blow his know and cough in his hands.. then carrying on making food and drinks.. no gloves.. no washing hands. C'mon... we have to do better! Hubby also ordered a Coke with no ice.. they served him a coke that was 3/4 full and said it's because he said no ice 🤔 I've never seen that before. On a positive the food was fabulous. We had the chicken Sliders and a Pizza. Was very good! A+...
Read moreHad some time to kill before my flight at Sydney Airport and decided to check out Fat Yak Bar—and I’m so glad I did!
I got a seat right by the window with a perfect view of the runway—watching planes take off and land while enjoying a good meal felt unexpectedly calming.
I ordered the black bun sliders (mini burgers with black sesame buns), and they were surprisingly delicious! The buns were soft, the filling was juicy, and the fresh greens added a nice crunch. Paired it with a glass of rosé wine—light, refreshing, and just perfect for a relaxing pre-flight moment.
The staff were friendly and didn’t rush at all, which made the whole experience even better. Even though it’s inside the airport, the vibe here is super chill—felt more like a laid-back café than a typical terminal bar.
If you’re flying out of Sydney and have a bit of time to spare, I’d definitely recommend stopping by Fat Yak Bar. Great view, great food, and a lovely way to wind down...

He talked to me as if I were being annoying. I then saw him start preparing my dish of nachos, and yes, it did take him less than five minutes to make it. Someone else brought it to my table. No apology. No ownership for having forgotten. I was not impressed. As to the nachos, they were ok, nothing to...
