Secret Squirrels blog: Discovering the Delights of Garfish Crows Nest! 6/6 🌰🌰🌰🌰🌰🌰 Our 1st ever 6🌟 review: As a secret squirrel, I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems to share with my fellow squirrels. And let me tell you, I've found a real treasure in Garfish Crows Nest! This charming restaurant in the heart of Crows Nest is a must-visit for any foodie squirrel. Let me tell you, I've found a real treasure in Garfish Crows Nest! This charming restaurant in the heart of Crows Nest is a must-visit for any foodie squirrel. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was stylish and modern, with a cozy feel that made me want to snuggle up with a good book and a plate of nuts. But the real magic happened when the food arrived. The menu was a veritable feast for the senses, with dishes that sounded almost too good to be true. I opted for the flathead, beetroot salad, scallops, and tasting plate - and let me tell you, it was a symphony of flavors and textures that left me paws-itively swooning! But what really made my experience special was the service. Our waiter staff, Kit and Jacob, were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure our every need was met and went above and beyond to make our dining experience special. If you're looking for a dining experience that's truly nut-tastic, look no further than Garfish Crows Nest. Trust me, fellow squirrels - this one's a real treasure! The welcoming atmosphere. Quite Possibly the Best Seafood & Gluten-Free Dining Experience in Sydney — Or Anywhere! Garfish was by far one of—if not the—best restaurants I’ve ever experienced for both seafood and gluten free options. It truly rivals some of the top seafood meals I’ve had internationally. We nearly ordered the entire menu because everything was just too good to pass up. The scampi was my personal highlight — incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. From entrée through to takeaway coffees, every single dish was an absolute treat. Even though I thought I couldn’t fit dessert, I had to try the gluten free sticky date pudding — I hadn’t had one in years, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of the meal. We booked online about 15 minutes before arriving, and were seated immediately — I’d still recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends. The atmosphere was warm, modern, and welcoming. Getting there is easy: Take the Metro to Crows Nest Station and exit via Clarke Street — it’s just a short walk. Parking can be busy, but there’s plenty of it between council car parks and street metered options nearby. For two people (without alcohol), the total came to $285, and we still had food to take away — which speaks volumes for the quality and generosity of the dishes. This wasn’t just dinner — it was an experience. We’ll absolutely be back.

The service staff were super attentive and polite, couldn't have asked for more from them. The food was decent, nothing spectacular but everything was as it should be, although not particularly hot. I was pretty disappointed that the menu they have on their website is different to what they offered in the restaurant. I chose this restaurant specifically because I wanted to try a dish they offered on the website menu, only to find it not there when we'd been seated and presented with the menus. The garnish on the hot chocolate was cool, though the hot chocolate itself was nothing special, and came in a much smaller glass than the coffees.

A Seafood Delight at Garfish, Crows Nest Nestled in the heart of Crows Nest, Sydney, Garfish offers a delightful seafood dining experience that tantalizes the taste buds and captures the essence of coastal cuisine.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The sleek decor, reminiscent of a modern seaside eatery, sets the tone for an elegant yet relaxed dining experience.

The menu at Garfish boasts a diverse selection of fresh seafood dishes, expertly crafted to showcase the flavors of the ocean. Whether you're in the mood for succulent prawns, delicate scallops, or perfectly grilled fish, there's something to satisfy every palate.

I had the pleasure of trying the Grilled Barramundi, and it was a true highlight. The fish was impeccably cooked, flaky yet moist, and bursting with flavor. Paired with a potion of the best creamy mashed potato.

The service at Garfish is exceptional, with attentive staff who are passionate about ensuring every guest has a memorable dining experience. From offering recommendations to accommodating dietary preferences, their attention to detail is commendable.

In addition to the outstanding food and service, Garfish also boasts an impressive wine list, featuring a selection of local and international wines carefully curated to complement the seafood offerings.

Overall, my experience at Garfish was nothing short of excellent. From the fresh and flavorful dishes to the impeccable service and inviting ambiance, it's no wonder that Garfish is a beloved dining destination in Crows Nest. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable meal, Garfish is sure to exceed your expectations. Thank you to the lovely...

I don't write reviews, but this was the worst dining experience we've endured for as long as I can remember. It's a shame 0 stars isn't an option.

Upon arrival, both dishes we were looking forward to were unavailable. We found alternatives. Then, they were unavailable too. Tried again. Alas, more confusion, now we're left with 20% of the menu, in what felt like 6 minutes...

When the wait staff said they were having a bad night, that should have been a sign of what lay ahead.

After being able to get an order into the kitchen, the entrees came out. They were edible, mains followed.

The waitress slapped them down with the level of attitude you'd expect from an angry toddler. Only then to be shuffled, in front of her, to whom the dishes belonged to. The pasta had a thick gluggy film on top as though it had been sitting under heat lamps since we arrived. The pasta said crab, but all we could taste was cream. The fish and chips were wet, limp and soggy. When we asked for fresh chips we were given the old ones, 'twice cooked'.

When it came time to pay, the staff seemed almost angry we didn't want to add a tip. After paying, they grabbed the eftpos machine and walked away.

It's fine to have a bad day, but this experience goes well beyond that. If you want us to leave, you don't have to bang furniture around next to our table. We're simply coming to terms with exactly what we'd just gone through.

Are you serious?

If you're going to charge $36 for fish and chips, you don't get to throw it at me, give me attitude and then scoff when you don't get a tip on top.

We've been coming to Garfish for years. It's been incrementally worse each time, but after...
