Amazing!! Naan bread was spectacular, cheesy naan had that cheesy stretch and was so good!

The chicken was delicious 🤤 and the rice was so unbelievably spectacular. I didn't know you could make rice that sweet— but perfect to eat with the naan and chicken.

We didn’t take photos of our entrees but the meat dumplings were so good covered in yogurt, we had the $52, 2 person entree share plate too perfect amount for 4 people honestly… and the lamb entree and chive (vegetarian) dumplings were yum!

The Afghan pasta was okay but I wouldn’t get it again, would definitely buy all the others again though! The chicken dishes were to die for and we need to come again (and will).

Got some drinks, mocktails and the yogurt lasse ones. Mango and Cherry yogurt drink tasted sweet and good, though very rich— its good to have as a desert. We had the spicy ginger mocktail, it was perfect and refreshing, lemony and also not. The lychee drink had 3 lychees in it, it was cold and refreshing, absolutely amazing. A definite must buy for those two mocktails.

The atmosphere was wonderful it was so nice to just sit and talk there, service was nice and food came seemingly quick (for how good the food was 🤤).

Definitely will be dreaming...

We returned to Bamiyan in Crows Nest for our second visit, and it was every bit as delightful as the first. Specialising in Afghan cuisine, the restaurant offers a wonderful amalgamation of flavours drawn from the Middle East, Central Asia, Greece and India – a truly unique dining experience.

We came back especially for the Ashaak dumplings – delicate chive parcels served with a rich tomato-lamb sauce and a swirl of cooling yoghurt. They were just as delicious as we remembered. The highlight of the night, however, was the grilled camel kebabs. Juicy, succulent and perfectly seasoned, the camel mince released cooking juices that soaked into the Afghani bread beneath, making every mouthful a taste sensation.

The warm service, inviting atmosphere and consistently excellent food make Bamiyan a standout. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience – and one we’ll definitely be returning for again. And the best part, the great atmosphere and hum of conversation and laughter - none of that annoying doom-scrolling, watching-videos-on-speaker so many parents allow their kids to...

My wife and I chose this spot for a date night, and it exceeded all expectations—the food was outstanding! We opted for the Banquet 1, featuring succulent lamb and chicken curry dishes, served alongside sweet Afghani bread, a fresh salad, aromatic Kabuli rice, tender kebabs, lamb dumplings, and a duo of flavorful dips. For dessert, we indulged in the saffron ice cream, which was the perfect finish. Every bite burst with incredible flavors, and the portion sizes left us more than satisfied.

It was refreshing to discover such a unique dining experience in the area, sparking a newfound love for Afghani cuisine. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to explore more of the menu! The restaurant hummed with a vibrant energy, clearly marking it as a popular new go-to in Crows Nest and it’s easy to see why. The staff were exceptional, offering attentive service and patiently explaining the dishes while answering all our questions with...
