Gia Dinh translates to “Family” in Vietnamese which is the ongoing theme here for me. This place in Marrickville has authentic central Vietnamese meals and is my firm favourite for a no fuss, quick and home comforting dining experience. This is not an upmarket restaurant nor does it try to be. I rate it a 5 for atmosphere as it serves its purpose - Clean, friendly, efficient and the seating is not too squishy next to each other. The music is at a good volume so you don’t have to raise your voice to hear one another. It reminds me a lot of my home cooked dishes, with our primary go to choices ranging from beef pho, special combination rice with pork chops, crispy fried chicken with red tomato rice, egg noodles or banh canh soup, hearty beef stew with yellow egg noodles, special combination vermicelli noodles with pork and spring rolls, congee with duck salad, bun bo hue, goi cuon and pork spring rolls. Everything we have eaten is comforting, the dipping sauces are delightful and the staff are accommodating. Parking in Marrickville isn’t easy however much easier to find parking than Cabramatta. It does get busy here, which helps that service is efficient and quick, so tables flow in and out smoothly. Portions are decent for prices charged. I’ve brought many friends with me here, all in agreement with overall taste and quality. You won’t be disappointed for Vietnamese dishes here that feel like home. (No wheelchair access though)

The dining experience at this Vietnamese restaurant was amazing. Every dish showcased the rich and vibrant flavors of Vietnamese food. The crispy Vietnamese pancakes were a delightful start, golden and perfectly cooked, crispy and served with fresh shrimp and pork with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. The spicy beef and pork noodle soup was a standout, bursting with rich, savory spices and tender, flavorful meat that warmed the heart with every bite. The steamed rice rolls were soft and silky, the minced pork filling melting in the mouth, complementing the perfect balance of sweet and sour in the accompanying sauce. I have never been to Vietnam but every dish here was prepared with such care and authenticity that it felt like I was traveling to Vietnam on a plate. Although the restaurant was crowded, the waiters were still very enthusiastic and attentive. I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. For anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food, this restaurant is a must try.

I have been here once recently, but this restaurant has become my favorite Vietnamese restaurant now 😍 My order: -Bo cuon la lot (grilled beef with lolot leaves) -Com tam voi trung (Broken rice with grilled pork and egg) -Bo cau nuong ( Deep fried quail) -Chicken pho They have a lot of Vietnamese food: starter, noodle and rice. I was surprised to find Bo La Lot 🌿( Grilled beef in lolot leaves) and Com Tam 🍚(Broken rice with grilled pork) add fried egg. The egg looks a bit messy but it wasn't overcooked for this dish (and with vegetable, too). This is authentic Vietnamese food 😍😍😍 I love this Bo La Lot so much, the beefs were still juicy and it was marinated well, the sauce came with it was good. The price is reasonable. The seats were comfortable. Their table were clean 👍 Their decoration might not be so beautiful but it's decent. Chicken pho was so good, the chicken was soft and the broth was great. I would love to come back to try more food 😊.

Won't come back again!

This place used to be much better. Staff was friendly. Food is yummy and fresh. Price is reasonable. And it was my favorite, I told every friend of mine about this Vietnamese restaurant and feel proud about it. I wish I know what make changes. But the LAST THREE TIME experience was HORIBLE.... service is bad as they always SQUEEZE everyone in. there is such a small table and we are just sitting next together as one table. This has happened repeatedly. My husband and I experience people staring at us and sneeze on us without cover their face. ( during covid19 and now). Disgusting. We always have to rush out of this place, like run for life!!!! My husband didn't want to go again but I implored him. he went to please me but it happened again as they let two other people sitting the same table with us. No SLPIT. we both become uncomfortable to talk and enjoy our meal. again run for life. not just that, the lady in the back she talked so loud and we happened to be sitter near the counter. very noisy. The price has jumped (from $40 -55, menu online shown this price) to $70 a hot pot... I phoned to check my charge on credit, the staff was rude and said he's been working over A YEAR and the prices have been updated many times.... I feel like I'm out of dated and I was not aware of. I rather pay more to dine in a place where I don't share table and nicer service than paying updated price ( changes many times in a Year) with rude staff mean manager and no personal space while dining, with ordinary food.

My husband and I will never come back. Also I defitely won't recommend it to anyone again the the...

We've been dining at this restaurant for over 2years the foods were good. However, they have failed us 3 times and can't believe they still charged us! The first time was over cooked deep fried wontons it was unacceptable and shouldn't serve to customers and the second time was very recent we ordered the wildbeetle leaf wrap with mince and when the waiter brought it out we both can't believe what we saw it came out less than the original size not even half just a quarter so we complained there no word said they won't charge but they still charged us and the third time we order the wontons again and again it was burned and black and they still served to customers we found this is unacceptable and we decided we won't staying for main we just paid and left and we went to the other Vietnamese restaurant for our main course we will not come back to this restaurant again absolutely unacceptable with the foods they dared to served customers we want everyone to be careful and take notice we pay what we expect not what they want to serve their...
