Visiting Marrickville from out of town and popped in for lunch with friends after a busy morning, the staff were super friendly and helpful! Loved the fish shaped jugs with complimentary sparkling water, we received a free coffee that was made extra by mistake which was delicious! The food was to die for, four out of five of us got the katsu bagel which we all loved, both the chicken and haloumi options were fabulous! Fresh flavours and generous portion. After we ate we were all given a free sample of babka which we were told was made fresh by the boss’s mum the night before, so yummy! We couldn’t leave without buying some cookies to take home for later which were so gooey and tasty. Once we left and got at least a block down the street, the worker who had served us came running down the street with an umbrella asking if we had left it behind - it wasn’t ours but he was so kind to go the extra mile and try to return it for us! Gorgeous location, scrumptious food, and excellent friendly service, would definitely make the trip to Sydney just to...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped by to have a cup of coffee and a tea today after having breakfast at a restaurant from across the street. We were really impressed with the customer service here as my friend has ordered the English breakfast and requested some lemon with the tea for health reasons, the gentleman at the counter was really friendly giving my friend a piece of lemon and that's fine for me as i normally just squeeze the lemon into the tea, but my friend is not a Vietnamese and he normally would like to get a really thin slice of lemon and drop it into the tea so he asked the gentleman if they could help to cut the lemon thinner and they were happy to help with an apology for the way he cut the lemon early and promptly cut the piece of lemon into thinner slices. What a nice gesture. The coffee I've had was good as well. We also liked the view from here where we can sit on the bar chair and look down to the areas around through the glass wall. Will definitely come here...
Read moreI've been so excited to try this place. The way they've decked it out is so cool, retro NYC and it's always busy. Working from home today and decided to walk up for a take away lunch. Service was lovely and smiley. I ordered 2 bagels, one with a side of fries and 2 coffees. Coffee was OK. Tasted a little under extracted. I burnt my mouth on the first sip. I know most places don't, but I thought they'd be one of the ones to make a long black at a drinkable temperature. But I really came for the bagel... such a disappointment. Couldn't taste the salmon. Mostly tomato and cream cheese. But the biggest disappointment was the bagel itself. Fridge cold, wet and soggy on the outside, crumbly and easily compressed. Seemed like it had been frozen? Not sure. My partners bagel was better, bouncy and soft. The side of fries was tiny. Overall, It wasn't worth $55 and a 20min wait on a quiet...
