Initially we were going elsewhere for brunch but the queue was like miles long.. wt... Anyway zipped here and there and walked up the none working escalator and found the Golden Palace and remembered we been here before. Was seated quickly for the 5 of us with a party of 6. Staff got the tea out fast and trolley at our table. It's nuts around this time of day, you either like the atmosphere of Chinese yum cha or don't. Either way is an experiences for the new and sometimes, even to the old as well. We don't do Yum Cha often, so it's a treat to everyone. Didn't see some items on trolley so needed to order off the menu. The wait staff "Alan" was fantastic, served us quickly and surely soon enough the ordered food was on our table. "Thank you ALAN!" A bit of warning here, I'm not sure what happenned to this building but as mentioned earlier the escalators are not working. So if you have elderly with you, you might like to use the lifts if that works. All in all, the food was fantastic and enjoyable brunch. Give it a go, with an open mind, and oh yeah be patience, most of these place are running 100 miles an hour and enjoy! Psst! ..Tau Foo Fah (Tofu Pudding) was awesome.

A great night out, located upstairs on the second floor. The escalators weren't working, be mindful it's a 30 step climb, there's a lift to the right of the escalators. Its a big venue! Popular for birthdays and weddings. The night we went half the area was sectioned off for a birthday. The music was a bit too loud hence the 3 stars for atmosphere. What really impressed us was despite it being at capacity, the food quality was good and comparable to the quality of Phoenix in Rhodes but at a much more reasonable price point. They had a 25% off live seafood as the weekend special. Be sure to book as some customers were turned away. We had the - green lobster with Ee Fu noodles, well cooked - pippis with rice vermicelli, sauce is good and plentiful. The meat could do with more salt seasoning - tong choy vegetables, well cooked A nice touch was the complimentary fruit and red bean dessert. Not all Chinese restaurants provide these anymore. Very traditional and much appreciated. Overall a great experience and pleasant meal.

Ok, went for yum cha. Restaurant was full as it quite often is. Food quality and taste wasn't too bad at all. Only wished there were more carts being pushed around consecutively. I feel like there were five carts in total. One for the dim sims, har gaw, tripe, chicken feet, tendons and other steamed dishes. Another cart for desserts (coloured jelly, mango pancakes, mango pudding etc), another just for steamed rice noodles (pork and prawn), another for tofu fuh and the last one for deep fried dishes like prawn cutlets, salt and pepper squid, taro balls etc. I think for such a busy restaurant you need at least 2-3 carts just for steamed dishes and possibly 2 carts for your deep fried dishes. We wanted to take photos of all dishes on the table, however it wasn’t possible as by the time the carts came around again with the dishes we wanted the food would have been stone cold. Service was wonderful and yum cha was quite affordable.

I have held my wedding reception at Golden Palace Seafood Restaurant yesterday and have been contacting directly with Daniel directly to arrange all the necessary steps required by my guests. Not only did the package include special offers that are a bonus the more tables you order, but this restaurant is by far the easiest and most pleasant to negotiate around when things don’t go according to plan which really help cut down the headaches when planning a wedding. I was able to customise the menu, the order of the menu and cater for special dietary requirements so that my wedding runs smoothly.

The restaurant decoration may not be stunning, but the food and most customer service makes up for it. Excellent customer service is crucial when you want to plan for a wedding as the restaurant that gets the job done so you can have a lot less stress on your wedding and not stress about the finer details as they will look after it on the background. I strongly recommend you to consider them as choosing the venue for your wedding or special occasion.

Daniel’s team with special mention to Jun - the waitress was able to rearrange the seating of my guests on the last minute as lack of communication on my part resulted in the guests being mixed up on different tables. He ensured that the vegetarian and set course menus were served on time and appropriately when I advised him at the worst possible time on the wedding day at 7:30pm when food has been prepared and are being served to the guests. With no hesitation but a smile on his face with a can do attitude he was able to pull off a miracle in my eyes and ensure that no tummy’s were left empty and everyone who had the special orders were served.

Myself and my wife strongly appreciate all the hard work that you have done for us and you have made a loyal customer for life who strongly endorses your efforts in redefining what I consider excellent...

Food was ok. Service was terrible. Felt like we'd gone to a foreign country and forgotten our phrase book. We went using a Groupon voucher for a 10 course yum cha meal. Upon entry, a staff member greeted us with, "Voucher?" and after I nodded proceeded to take my phone and walked away. He noticed me following and said, "Scan." About 20m away from where he took my phone he met with another staff member who scanned my phone and they muttered incoherently to each other They seemed amused that I'd followed. He pointed at a table where we sat ourselves. Someone came and put down a piece of paper with Chinese writing on it. Within 10 seconds, four plates of food arrived. After this, nothing for ages. Many staff members passed, no eye contact. We stopped someone and asked her what we had to do now. She made no eye contact muttered something in Chinese and walked away and did other things. Another while passed, another 10 staff passed on their rounds with food. No eye contact. As I was about to go to ask another staff member, something arrived on the table. Again we sat for ages and had to flag someone else. We felt unwelcome. We had no idea what we were eating because they made no effort to write the menu in English even though we are in AUSTRALIA and these Groupon deals would no doubt bring in some non-Chinese people. Nor did anyone try and explain the concept of yum cha to someone possibly new to it. We won't go back, no matter how good...

Saturday 7th June 2025. Dinner - 6:15pm - 9:30pm.

Haven't been back to this place since 30th March 2021 when I last complained about the rude staffs and only ONE LADY was the nice one that provided good customer service. This was Yum Cha, when I was on a date with a pretty Vietnamese girl... The girl even didnt like the waitstaff's service back then.

And tonight for dinner, for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary, the dishes were absolutely SHOCKING. Not worth the price we paid for No flavour or next to no flavour Chef and kitchen hand seems to have rushed the job The waitstaffs were ok though. Food almost tasted bland and absolute shocked by the quality of each meals served. Garlic butter lobster with noodles should have more garlic butter taste and the sauce being more creamier. Pork was too soggy. Egg white shrimps were average, almost no flavour Pork ribs were chewy. Veggies were crunchy though but still could use more flavour. San choy bow had NO wok-hei Peking duck wrapped in pancake was missing the hoi sin sauce. Therefore it was dry. The salted egg prawns was below average. There's no wok-hei aroma either. The deep fried battered meal that sat on a bedding of broccoli and came with a brown dipping sauce separately, was absolutely tasteless.. Sauce was bland.

Not coming...
