Dear owner of Ilcha Korean BBQ Buffet Cabramatta. I have been visiting your place since its opening with my family (5 of us) on a regular basis, enjoying various foods from your menu, and especially the Korean BBQ. Today my 8 years old daughter wanted to eat some Vietnamese food for lunch, so after that we went to Ilcha Korean BBQ Buffet Cabramatta, as my other daughter and I wanted to have some Korean BBQ. I have asked politely if the 8 years old can sit with us (as she wouldn't eat at all), and the guy at the front says that is not acceptable and that we need to pay for her as well. I then asked to talk to the manager, and that's when the horror started. I asked 'the manager' the same question, and if an exemption can be made as we are a regular customers and obviously I wouldn't let my 8yrs old girl be on the street while the rest of us would eat the BBQ. The amount of aggression from 'the manager' was enormous, that we were completely stunned. He was abrupt, aggressive, rude and it appears to me that he has no manners, education, nor any people skills. That young man acted like a gang member, with threatening and aggressive manners that I could hardly explain. I have tried to calm him down, but that made the situation even worse. When I asked him - why are you talking to us in such an aggressive manner, he replied - I am already having a bad day. Both my daughters felt threatened by his behavior, and I thought its a matter of seconds before he would physically attack us. I understand and accept that you have certain policies in place, and believe that the explanation and refusal of the exemption request was denied, but still the demeanor of that young man was unexpected (in a bad way) and completely appalling. I'm certain that this is not the first complaint regarding him, but I am urging you to remove that man who can only cause damage to the reputation of the restaurant that is loved by many. This occurred today 26 June 2020 at about 2.40PM. The 'manager' would probably fit better in an employment enviroment such as coal mining, or maybe cherry picking, but he certainly doesn't deserve to work at your place....
Read moreMy worst experience ever, I lost most of my appetite. I went to eat dinner here last night with my boyfriend 6:56PM Tuesday 18/03/2025. The staff named Yoon or Yun (korean guy) was so rude for no reason.
So a girl helped us get our seat outside and paid before sitting down (I know this since I have been eating here for more than 100 times a year). When we are getting our food, the guy Yoon , came and asked us rudely "where are you guys sitting?" He asked my boyfriend so he replied "outside" and then he suddenly yelled at us "No! You have to pay first! This is a pre pay policy! Who told you to come here?" I said "We are paid. Excuse me?"
I got so offended, he stopped us while grabbing our food just because he thought we did not pay! This is so offending and embarrassing most of the customer who are grabbbingg food with us looked at me and boyfriend!
I told to the other lady "Can you please let your co-staff know that we paid already? Because he was just accusing us of not paying when he never even asked anyone that's just so rude."
The other lady was nice she was apologising but the korean guy I confronted him to let him know that next time ask your co-workers first before concluding and he was yelling for that we just felt so embarrassed and he did not even apologise he just replied "Okay! I did not accuse!"
I am not coming back here again, the staff needs some manners. I know it gets busy but there will always be a nicest way to ask if we are assisted! That felt like a racism because me and my boyfriend were not asian at all. I will take this matter on a different level.
Food was always great and irreplaceable but I guess I will never come back to any branch. The other lady who helpedd us was just so nice and apologetic and she apologised on behalf of that...
Read moreI dined at Ilcha Cabramatta a few months ago. Today I decided to take my mother, sons aged 3 & 10, one neice aged 11 and two teenage nephews (total 7 people) to IlCha Cabramatta. We were seated and wanted ala carte but waitress said if we sit inside, we MUST have their buffet lunch. If we want ala carte, then we MUST move to outside (weather outside was 10 degrees and windy). We corporated by agreeing to having buffet.
Then, the waitress said EVERYONE on the table MUST have buffet. I said 'Okay, 6 of us will have buffet but my 3 yo has eaten his lunch and won't be eating the buffet'.
The waitress, said 'I know, but you will still need to pay for him to be sitting in the restaurant even if he's not going to eat'.
If you can't see my points already, I will be blunt: Too many rules to eat inside their restaurant; Infexible with their menu; Family unfriendly; Unfriendly staff showing no leniency or consideration for customers; Unethical restaurant charges
I walked in to Ilcha Cabramatta happy and hungry but walked out with a stomach FULL of anger.
We walked out and went straight to next door (Wonjo BBQ) where the staff were friendly and very accommodating and the food was better (I had previously eaten at Ilcha).
Ilcha Cabramatta & the staff there, you have let the Cabramatta community down. Shame on you. Cabramatta is a warm and family friend orientated community. You don't fit in.
Thank you Wonjo BBQ. This is what running a restaurant business is about, especially in Cabramatta. Kudos to you and I will be leaving a positive review...
